Hi I'm Ryan

I'm an Army veteran. I'm a business major. I'm a husband and a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family! I am a husband and a father. My wife and I are the parents of a beautiful baby boy. We love spending time together and exploring the world around us. I enjoy hiking, camping, and playing basketball. I am an Army veteran and served as a medic in Afghanistan. I am currently studying business and want to use my talents to help others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were both members of the church. However I still had a personal responsibility to find out for myself whether or not the things I had been taught my whole life were true. When I was 18 years old I started to have my doubts. There were a lot of things in my life that I felt unsure of and I wanted to know for myself. I had an experience which completely humbled me. In my feelings of confusion and frustration I asked my Heavenly Father in prayer to help me know if it was all true. The answer didn't come right away but when it did the feeling I had was overwhelming and there was no denying what I knew was true. I have had many experiences since then which have strengthened and confirmed what I believe to be true. Jesus Christ taught that "signs shall follow them that believe" (Mark 16:17) Life is not easy but when I have put the teachings of Jesus Christ at the center of my life I have been strengthened and have grown in ways I didn't know possible. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and He knows what is best for me.

How I live my faith

Jesus Christ taught us to "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16) I believe that the best way to show what you believe is to live it and to be an example to others. Although I know that I am not perfect and none of us are I do my best to live what I believe everyday. I work hard so that I can provide for my family. My wife and I make sure that we regularly set aside time to be together as a family. We have fun together, sometimes we just talk, but we also take time to read from the scriptures and teach each other the lessons we learn. I currently have the opportunity of working with the 12-13 year old boys in our local community. I get to teach them on Sundays and during the week I work with them in the scouting program. I also have the opportunity to visit with some of the families in our neighborhood and help them meet their needs.
