Hi I'm Alyssa

I'm a born and raised Texan. Love taking road trips, reading, kayaking, and family life. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was home schooled from first grade through high school. I enjoy road trips with friends and family, I also love to cook, play most sports, camp, read, photography, kayaking with my dad, and try new things. I work as a nanny, to be like 'Mary Poppins' was my dream growing up and its an amazing feeling leaving that dream now! I'm in my 20's and living the dream, as some might say... life isn't always easy but I'm grateful for everyday!

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up LDS, but until I was 16 I didn't have my own testimony for what that meant to me. I was at a girls camp for the Church and we had what they called a "faith walk" we went from one living photo to another, different times in Christ's life, I just remember as I was walking getting a strong feeling, like someone was telling me 'you know this is all true.' From that day on I have never doubted. My Savoir lives, he loves all of us and died for us so we can return to live with our Father in heaven again. Joseph Smith was a prophet and helped restore the gospel to the earth in the latter days so that we would have that same chance to learn of His plain for us. The Book of Mormon is where I have find my strength in the hard times, and I am grateful for the truths it holds for me.

How I live my faith

I'm a member of a single's ward, I'm blessed to be a visiting teacher where I get to visit with other women in the Church and help them with any needs they might have and just build a stronger friendship rooted in the same gospel with people who have the same values and standers I do. I have the opportunity to volunteer with my Church and visit human societies, elderly homes, helping different people dealing with different troubles, and it has helped me grow. I've build strong friendships and I love it!
