Hi I'm Shaun

I was raised in Germany and Portugal. I am a father of four and work for The Home Depot. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been into photography since high school. I also love all sports. My wife and I met while playing on opposite soccer teams. My family and I spent a total of 12 years living overseas - the last 4 in Portugal. I served a 2-year mission for The Church in Belem, Brazil. I speak fluent Portuguese and decent Spanish as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it just makes sense to me. I have participated in and learned about many other religions and find that the LDS church fills voids and answers questions that others cannot. I didn't completely read the Book of Mormon until I was already living on my own. Having grown up in an LDS family, I decided I should gain a testimony for myself. After completing the Book, I did pray about it and now know without a doubt that it is absolutely true and contains teachings of Jesus that will help bring me closer to Him.

How I live my faith

I have taught Sunday School to the youth in the church for several years. Absolutely love it.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

We believe that Jesus is the physical and spiritual Son of our Heavenly Father. Only because of and through him can we return to our Father in Heaven after this mortal life. Our goal in life should be to follow his example. We must strive to be like him - spiritually and physically perfect. He has a physical body, as he did after his resurrection - just like His Father. Because of Jesus, all who have born on this Earth will be resurrected and have immortal bodies. Because of Jesus, we can overcome spiritual death (sin) by accepting his atonement and repenting of our wrong doings. Show more Show less
