Hi I'm Cheri

I'm a college student. I'm an optimist! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full-time college student studying English literature. I believe there is so much good in the world around us, and I love hearing stories about how people are helping others. Life is meant to be enjoyed, and I know that we can find joy even in difficult circumstances because of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it brings me happiness! As I continue to learn and realize what Jesus Christ has done for me, I am filled with such great love for my Savior. I have personally experienced the peace and the healing that come from Jesus Christ's sacrifice for us. I know that He really has taken upon Himself the sins and sorrows of the world because I have felt my sins and sorrows be lifted from me as I turn to my Savior. I know that no matter what struggles or heartaches that we may be faced with, He can help! I have always known that Jesus Christ loves me, ever since I was a little girl, and it's a knowledge that has really blessed my life. Because I know that Jesus Christ loves me, it makes perfect sense to me that He would bless us with a Prophet on the earth again. He loves all of us just as much as He loved the people in the Bible- why wouldn't He bless us with the same guidance? All of the teachings of my church makes sense to me logically- but even more importantly than that, I feel in my heart that they are true. I have prayed and asked God if His gospel is real, and I received such a peaceful, wonderful feeling that I just knew it was true.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving an 18-month mission in Georgia to share the peace and happiness that I feel with all who will listen. I know that they can come to learn the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ for themselves just as I have, and that it will bless their lives!

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Cheri
We are normal people just trying to do our best to follow Jesus Christ. We definitely believe in equality of men and women. As a female member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have always felt supported an encouraged to follow my dreams. Men and women work together, using our unique talents and abilities to help each other through life. Show more Show less
