Hi I'm Gabby

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a senior in high school. I'm very excited to graduate and go to college. I'm seriously considering the Navy Reserve after high school. I enjoy biking, camping, and exploring :) I love art, my favorite is drawing. I'm more of a traditional pencil and paper type of girl. Also, I love to read :)

Why I am a Mormon

For most of my life I've been a Free Methodist Christian. and I liked my faith, but I felt that it wasn't complete, like there was always something missing. In my junior year in high school, a friend of mine introduced me to his faith. He told me he was Mormon. I had no idea what that was. All I knew was what my church told me. They said the Mormon faith was wrong, and they just added to the bible. I wanted to find out for myself. I wasn't going to let anyone tell me what was wrong and what wasn't. I'm very happy that I made that decision. The first time I attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will be a memorable one. I'll never forget the welcome I got. I immediately felt the spirit with me while listening to the lessons. I craved to find out more about the church. I met with the missionaries of the church, and they taught me week after week, filling my eagerly awaiting mind with information about their church. I prayed and read the Book of Mormon, which was alien to me, and the Lord told me that this church was true. After months of learning about the church, it was time for me to get baptized. I knew that I didn't know everything about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but I trusted my heart and what the spirit was telling me. I was baptized August 20, 2011, and I am so happy to be a Mormon :)

How I live my faith

Since I am very new to the church, I am attending new member lessons with the missionaries. I love the lessons, they fill my heart with the spirit :) I go to church every Sunday and I don't dread it like I used to at my previous church. Before school everyday I go to the church to meet with all the other teens to have a lesson before we head off to school. Getting up early is worth going to the lesson :) There are plenty of opportunities to help the community and I love participating in them!
