Hi I'm Laura

I am a mother and a wife. I love music, photography, and fun. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Next to my relationship with God, my family is the most important thing in my life....because I choose to put them at the top of my list. I love people and learning about what makes them tick. I love music and will always have a passion for singing. Serving people makes me happy and creating beautiful things is so much fun! I have a bachelor's degree in Marriage, Family, & Human Development... It took me seven years to graduate from college, but having my 2 boys was the best detour I could have taken! My husband thinks I should go on to get my masters degree in Psychology. We'll see! There is so much to see and do and experience in life....who knows where our adventure will lead!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm learning to enjoy the journey through life, because I know that in the end, it will lead me home to my Father in Heaven. Sometimes life is really hard. Sometimes I just want to run away from all the difficult things that come my way, but the Gospel of Jesus Christ has taught me how to grow and become stronger through those trials instead of being broken by them and giving up. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the reason for my knowledge of God and my understanding of his great interest and care for His Children. I love knowing that I am a child of God! This knowledge makes me a better person. It helps me understand who I am and what my relationship with God is in a way that I am so grateful for! I know that God loves each of us and he wants us to be happy. The church helps me to remember that when times are tough and I want to give up. There's such a strong focus on the family, that I know we will always be okay if we listen to and follow the teachings of our Prophets. Each day, I pray for guidance. I ask my Father in Heaven what I can do that day to be a better mother, friend, wife, daughter, and person. And each day, He guides me. He hears and answers our prayers. He truly loves each of His children.

How I live my faith

I try to bring good to each situation I am in. My boys and I look for quiet ways to serve others each day and try to make the world a better place little by little. Currently, I organize and conduct the music for some of our meetings. It's not something that comes naturally to me, but I feel it is important for me to grow and become better. I am also called as a "visiting teacher" to watch over and care for several women in our church. We visit them and talk about things we can do to help make life better for them. It's always fun when we can find a way to make a real difference. I have also spent time working with the youth in our church. I really enjoyed working with the youngest children (ages 2-11 years) in their Primary classes, and before that I spent time working with the Young Women ages 12 to 18. I have enjoyed all of my callings. Though some have proven more challenging than others, I always strive to give my best to those I'm called to serve.
