Hi I'm Marlene

I grew up mostly in Wyoming. I love reading books and the outdoors. I love food. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love reading books, exclusively historical fiction. I grew up with four sisters and my mom and dad. Trying new things, like snowboarding and eating new food is me. I love the tastes that come with new food, and the feelings of love and passion that were put into the food. I have worked mostly production work, helping make windows and parts of different airplanes.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have raised me in the church all my life. Many would say that would be why I am a member of the LDS church. That is not true. When I turned eight years old I was given a choice to continue in the church, or not. At this age. I thought about what my life would be like without the church. I looked back on my life and found that their were many happy moments that had happened when I was attending a church meeting or provided service for someone who I didn't know, I felt joy. I enjoyed seeing their smiling faces and a sense of peace surrounded them. The more I interacted with people in the church and served others in the community, I was encouraged to be better. I loved my Savior and my Heavenly Father and wanted to do as my Savior, Jesus Christ did and be baptized. Now that I am older my answer would be the same. I know that my Heavenly Father loves everyone on this earth. And as I serve others and learn more of the gospel I am filled with a stronger sense of peace. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has blessed my life in more ways than I can possibly count. I have served in leadership positions in the church and have been humbled and taught, by others and by my Heavenly Father just how vast and deep our Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to succeed. Although I have trials and hard times in life, I can keep trying and I have a safe place to turn to. I have learned to open my heart to the promptings of the Holy Ghost and to act upon those promptings. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, he suffered for us in Gethsemane and on the Cross, which was needed in order to prepare a way for us to return to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

In high school I went to an early morning religion class called Seminary were I was the president of our class. I was a member of my high school band and participated in track and field. I served in two positions in the youth group in church. First as the president of a group of girls from the age of twelve to thirteen. Then several years later as the president of a group of girls from the age of sixteen to eighteen. I am serving in a position were I work closely with the full time missionaries.
