Hi I'm Matt Kamilos

I'm a marathon runner, I'm getting degrees in criminal justice and music, happily married and I'm a happy mormon :)

About Me

I"m a music education major at the Univ of Arkansas and I have an emphasis on trumpet. I also enjoy running 1/2 and full marathons. I've lived most of my life in Arkansas, and have enjoyed growing up with my 5 sibling and my parents. We are all grown up now, but I love my family and I hope to have my own one day.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, first off because I was raised in a Mormon family. But more importantly, I read the Book of Mormon front to back as a teenager, I prayed and asked the Lord sincerely to know if it's truthfulness, and I received a spiritual confirmation and testimony that it is true. I used this testimony and expounded on it, as I served the Lord Jesus Christ on a full time mission in Sao Paulo Brasil. It truly was a wonderful experience, as I got to help others realize how joyful life can be by following Jesus Christ. I know Christ's gospel was restored to this earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith, and that has helped me be the happy person I am today!

How I live my faith

I live my faith through Church organizations and being as best example as I possibly can. The Savior taught us by example, and I do the same. I take time out of my busy, college life schedule to attend church activities and institute. I only have my own responsibility at church in our sunday school meetings. But the best is just keeping the commandments as God, that we know from the holy scriptures. I've learned that as I live high standards, my peers notice and see how happy I am for living a clean, pure and high-standard life. This is what the Savior did, and I hope to do the same. I know as I do so, I can effectively help others to do the same.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Matt Kamilos
We do regard the Holy Bible as holy scripture obviously as long as it is translated correctly! We read the King James Version, and yes, we read it as Holy Scripture. I love the New Testament and have read it front to back! Show more Show less
