Hi I'm Abram

I'm a red head. I make music. I love people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Scotty Abram Himmer. I absolutely love life. I love to do just about anything. I dirt bike, play many instruments such as guitar, piano, bass guitar, alto saxophone, I love to run, and I love being around people. If it is somewhat fun i'm there. I have attended a semester at Brigham Young University Hawai'i, and now I am serving a mission in Busan South Korea. I am in a family of five brothers, 3 of which are married and sealed in a temple of God. I look up to all of my brothers, young and old, in many ways. They are an example to me through their diligence and humility. My youngest brother especially, he has spent his entire life teaching me how to be a better brother, son, potential father, friend, and son of God.

Why I am a Mormon

As a teenager I didn't live the gospel of Jesus Christ and I was miserable. I was not happy with my family, myself, or my friends. As I started to open my mind to a different way of living I realized that the Church I attended gave me a solution, I had been taught that it would work, but I wasn't sure. I decided that I would try it out, to live my life differently in order to be happier. As I lived according to the commandments outlined in the Gospel of Jesus Christ I became more aware of God's love for me. At first when I tried this nothing happened, I wasn't changing myself or anyone else for the better, it seemed that I was just wasting my time by trying to live a different way. But I remembered a lesson that I had been taught, in order to be able to receive the blessings of living the gospel one can not just go through the motions, but instead live it wholeheartedly. And that real intent and sincerity made all the difference. I came to a knowledge of the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by living it with a willingness to live it forever if it is true. I know that Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that it is true because I asked God. It wasn't a simple "God are you there?" and beams fell upon me and God spoke to me verbally. Instead He showed me slowly through my family. It was over time that I became aware of his existence. I implore whoever is reading this to read Moroni 10:3-5 and follow it's instructions. But remember, if you do not plan on doing it with real intent, meaning planning on acting upon whatever you receive, it will not work. I'm a Mormon because I know that this church is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service to the Lord. I am serving the Korean people because I have experienced the happiness that one can have by living the gospel. As a missionary I wake up at 6:30 and go to bed at 10:30. From morn to night I am working, not becuase it is my personality to, but because I have faith. I have faith that if I dedicate myself to the Lord completely I will be able in some way help someone else be happier. I do not know how, who, or exactly where, but I know that through my work and faith that I will help someone else become happier. I love this gospel and I will do anything for it.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Abram
I am a missionary myself, and I proselyte becuase the happiness that the gospel has given me is something I want EVERYONE to feel nad understand. It is true and if I were to keep it for myself I would feel overwhelmingly selfish, because I know anyone can know of it's true and become such a happier person. Show more Show less
