Hi I'm Rebecca Burton

I love music, I love art, I love sleep, I wanna serve a mission, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the second oldest of six. I have three sisters and two brothers. I just moved back home from South Carolina, where I was a nanny there for about six months. I graduated High School in May of 2013, and I plan to attend school this coming spring. I wanna do something in the medical field but I'm not quite sure what I want to do yet. Well anyways I kindof grew up all over the place. I was originally born in Idaho where I lived till I was about two and a half. After that our family moved to Arizona and we lived there for about nine and a half years when my parents decided to move back to Idaho. We lived in Idaho for another four years. Then we moved back to Arizona for 4 more years. We moved around a lot. By this time I just graduated High School and had gotten a nanny job. My Family moved to Gillette Wyoming when I moved to Columbia South Carolina where I met the coolest people ever!! I'm gonna have to say that the Columbia South Carolina Singles Ward is the best Singles Ward ever!! I was in south Carolina for about six months before I decided to leave and move back home with my family. Yes I was sad to leave but it was what needed to be done, and I am grateful to be back.

Why I am a Mormon

Having grown up in the church and seeing the ways other people with all the temptation in the world, and when they make a mistake and they feel alone I think if they only had the gospel in their lives and how they are really not alone that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are really there for us especially in our time of need. I love the feeling after going to church, doing baptisms for the dead, scripture reading, and even saying personal prayers. I love the feeling of never being alone. And wanting to serve a mission, I want others to have the knowledge and understanding that I have, that there is a loving Heavenly Father who loves us and cares for us, and wants thee best for us. Living as a nanny in South Carolina was a bittersweet experience. I was a live-in nanny for a family friend who was not LDS. Because of this I had gotten out of the habit of saying my prayers and reading my scriptures. Life had become very hard for me. I can say that those were the hardest six months of my life. Since I have been back home with my family, I want to do these things so I can live my life to the fullest. There was a reason my parents did these things with out family since we were little. I am thankful for the wonderful example that my parents have set for me.

How I live my faith

Today I attend church every Sunday. And since I am a young Single Adult I attend Family home evening with the other singles in my ward every Monday night at the church building. Since my dad is the ward mission leader, I have this amazing opportunity to go out with the Sister Missionaries and help share the gospel. By doing this my knowledge of the gospel is growing and it has answered the questions I've had about the church and missionary work as well. Because of this I wanna serve a mission which means I better start saving so I can share the gospel with others!!
