Hi I'm Arielle

I was born and raised in Arizona. I have competedin English riding, and Irish dancing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been riding horses for the past 11 years, 6 of those years I spent competing in dressage and jumping, and for the remaining 5 years I have been teaching riding lessons and branching out into the western style. I also love to dance, I do all kinds of dance but one of my favorite styles is Irish dancing. I spend 3 years Irish dancing and competed in it too. I also went to BYU for 3 years but did not finish there. I am currently still attending college to become a nurse. I dont have the large family that is typically associated with mormons, and I am currently the only active LDS member in my family. Something that really sets me apart from others is that I worked at the Arizona Reniassance Festival for 6 years doing Celtic reinactment. I Learned to weave, spin wool, cool over an open fire and many other interesting things that have actually come in handy. I always thought that a lot of people would think it was wierd but in reality everyone thinks its really cool and I have been able to share some of these talents with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because i chose to be. Like all other Mormons I made a choice to be an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was born into this religion, but my family was never fully active, we would go maybe once a month or so. When I was 13 we all stopped attending church. When I was 15 one of my good friends challenged me to go to an activity for girls my age, I went and met my best friend there. She invited me to church the following Sunday, and I sat with her family. That sunday was fast Sunday and her family was having a huge dinner after church and they invited me. Since then I have been active in the church. Although it wasn't until I was 17 that I made the choice for myself that church was for me and that's where I wanted to be. It happened one night when I was having a hard time with my family. My family would often criticize me for holding true to my beliefs, they would tell me things like I was "being too Mormon" or that all the changes I had made werent really me. That night I had had enough and I was in my room very upset and I prayed for comfort, immediately I felt the comfort I needed and that made me realize that without the LDS church I would be lost. Its easier to face crisis's in our lives if we know we have a purpose and a destination at the end of our mortal lives.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to plan large events for youth through my church as well as participate in community service projects. One of my favorite things I helped out with was when I was 16. As a youth group we made puzzles for kids in the Childrens Hospital. I love doing community service through the church because It makes me feel like I have a purpose. When I thought about the kids that would recieve their very own puzzle it made me so happy to know I brought a little joy to the kids that are suffering through illnesses at the Hospital.
