Hi I'm Elder Patrick

I'm a completely average young adult. Also, I'm a Mormon. And on a mission. In French Polynesia.

About Me

Yeah, on the surface, there's nothing too surprising about me. I went to school, I ran cross country, I sing a lot, I act a little. But I'm anything but normal. Once you get to know me, you realize that I'm crazy. In a definitely awesome way.

Why I am a Mormon

Originally, it was because I grew up in the Church. That was it. That was why I was a Mormon. Did I believe everything? Yes. Did I live its teachings? Of course. But all that was only really because I grew up doing those things. Now, the reason I'm still a Mormon, that's different. I never would have gone on a mission and devoted two years exclusively to my church if I didn't know completely that it's true. And I do. I did what they'd been suggesting I do since I was, like, eight and read the Book of Mormon and then prayed to know if it was true. And by my presence here, you can bet that God answered in the affirmative.

How I live my faith

Well, at the moment I'm serving a mission, so...yeah I guess that counts as living my faith. I get to spend all day every day representing the Lord and doing my best to help everyone. I love what I do, and it doesn't hurt that I was called to the best mission in the word: the Tahiti Papeete mission. Every missionary's mission is the best mission, but not every missionary's mission is island paradise.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Elder Patrick
Families are the best. Or at least, they can be. That's basically what Mormons believe about families. If you ask a child when his family is the happiest, he or she will probably answer something along the lines of "when we are together." And that's important. We know that a family is happiest when they are living the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Gospel is designed for families. It is FOR families. When a family lives the Gospel, they are unified. And happy. Trust me, I would know. And it doesn't end there. We believe that God loves us so much that he gave us a way to live with our loved ones forever. Through the restored sealing power, my family can live together in Heaven as a family, and I never have to worry about death being the end of anything. And that is why the Church puts such an emphasis on families. We want to spend eternity with our loved ones. Show more Show less
