Hi I'm Katie

I mostly grew up in North Carolina. I am about to go serve a mission in Tacoma, Washington! I'm the oldest of 3 kids.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love basketball!!! And I absolutely love to watch Duke play!! I love music!! I play the piano and sing but not very well. I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my entire life... But I just recently gained a testimony of the church, and became more serious about it. I guess you could say I had my own personal convertion. I went to Southern Virignia University, and after my mission I want to go back. I am a Family Child Development major, and I when I graduate I want to do something that involves helping children.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my entire life, but until about a year and a half ago I relyed on my Dad's testimony. But then my first semester at SVU I decided that I needed to change because I wasn't happy with myself. The only way I knew how to change was to read the Book of Mormon all the way through, and pray every morning and night. When I finished the Book of Mormon I felt so happy, and I just knew that it was true. I started to get really excited about going to church and learning more about the gospel. I started to go through the repentance process and changing things in my life. I started gaining such a strong testimony of my Savior, and His atonement. I know that the Savior loves me and He loved me so much that He died for me and suffered for my sins. I realized He knows everything that I have gone through and He has never left me alone. I then wanted to change everything, and do everything that I can to be more like Christ. I realized that I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and that He loves me. I know that that is the most important thing to me! I also gained a strong testimony of our Prophets. My institute teacher once said that the prophet is the mouthpiece for our Heavenly Father. So if Christ were on the Earth today He would be saying what our prophet is saying. This made me want to listen to everything that they said. And helped me know that Pres. Thomas S. Monson is truley a man called of God. Then I wanted to follow everything the prophets had advised us to do. And ever since I have never been so happy in my life. I have never been so at peace with myself. And I have never felt so good about myself! This gospel truley makes me completely happy! And I want everyone else to be as happy as I am. I like to say I am not only happy on the outside I am happy on the inside too! My spirit is smiling :) I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am currently about to serve an 18-month mission for our Church. I am going to serve in Tacoma, Wa. I subsitute teach kids of all ages in our Chruch, and I subsitute for the music teacher for the kids as well. I subsitute teach a class for the adult woman once a month.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Katie
We believe that the Holy Ghost is one of the three members of the Godhead. He is our link to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ on this Earth! He does not have a body, but that is so he can help testify of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, he can help lead and guide us to do what's right, he can help us recieve direct revelation from Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father.
