Hi I'm Dick

I was born and raised in eastern Canada. I have seven grand kids, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in eastern Canada, but moved to the United States when was 18 years old with my parents. After that, I served in the Korean war for two years and was stationed in Okinawa. I was discharged in 1954 and returned home to Canada. Later, I moved to Iowa to attend college, which is where I met my beautiful wife. My main hobby is trains. I'm a railroad fan. That's the real ones, not the little models.

Why I am a Mormon

My wife and I were introduced to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ by a neighbor in northern California. We were invited to a meeting to learn about the church with a group of about three other families. There we learned about the gospel separately, but were all baptized on the same day. Since then, we have learned a lot and have seen how the church has blessed our lives and family.

How I live my faith

My wife and I have served two full time missions for the church including as mission working with the church educational system. I have also served three missions as a stake missionary in my own area. Right now, I am serving in my local congregation as a leader of a group of the men.
