Hi I'm John

I'm from Dallas,TX. I love swimming and any Dallas area sports franchise. I study English, Spanish and business. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Most central to the question of who I am is where I come from. I was born and raised in Plano, Texas, a city just North of Dallas. I grew up swimming, boating on the lake, spending time with friends and family, and cheering for the Mavericks and Cowboys. I love everything about Texas, however while at BYU I met and fell in love with a California beach girl, and have quickly converted into a California boy. I went to school at BYU where I swam on the Swim Team and majored in English with minors in Spanish and Business. Currently my wife and I live in Santa Monica, CA. I work as a consultant for DealerSocket, a SaaS company that provides software solutions for car dealerships. I manage about 30 accounts in the Los Angles area. I love to ride my bike, enjoy the California weather, and spend time with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, however like all members of the LDS Church I found out for myself through prayer and study the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, the Prophet Joseph Smith, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When I was a teenager I began to read the Book of Mormon with the intent of finding our for myself if it was a true book from God. Through my study and constant prayers asking for the truth I developed a strong testimony that indeed the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I have continued to develop and strengthen my testimony by continuing to study the scriptures, pray, and share my testimony when appropriate. I don't fear or reject doubts that come into my mind, or that others share with me. I just rely on the sweet feelings that I have had on many occasions when the Spirit has testified to me that the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and His church and power have been restored to the earth.

How I live my faith

A huge part of my faith that impacts me daily is my relationship with my Heavenly Father. Through prayer I am able to communicate with him on a very personal level. I often offer up simple prayers giving thanks or asking for courage, strength, confidence and clarity multiple times a day. These prayers always seem to calm me and invite the spirit into my heart. Developing a close and personal relationship with my Heavenly Father is a constant process. By obeying His commandments, honoring Him, and exercising faith in Him and His plan, I have developed faith and have become comfortable opening up my feelings and thoughts in prayer with him.
