Hi I'm Mallorie

I grew up around the world. I'm a nurse and will apply to medical school next summer. I am happily married. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Because of my dad's job, I had the wonderful chance to travel a lot growing up. We lived in the United States, Costa Rica, and the Philippines. I graduated from college with my nursing degree, but am still taking classes to get ready to apply to medical school next summer. Two years ago, I married the love of my life. We love spending time together, going out to eat, or going to the movies. We have five dogs and twelve chickens. We will have our first child next year.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, and I am so glad that I was. Growing up, I was encouraged to find out for myself what I believed, and not rely on the testimony of my parents or other people. I developed a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father, and this is something that guides every important thing I do. His love for me is so evident in my life. I am constantly reminded that when my plan does not work out, it is always because the Lord has a better plan for me. The Church provides me with the knowledge and support I need to be a better Christian and a better daughter of Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I teach 9-year old Sunday school with my husband. We have a class of 11 wonderful kids who are always surprising us with their insight and ability to learn.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mallorie
Having been a Mormon my whole life, I have heard quite a few interesting "facts" and questions about the Church from people who are not members. The only one that I have heard that has bothered me is this one. Are Mormons Christians? Yes. Yes. Yes. YES! It is in our name (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), it is on our scriptures (The Book of Mormon - Another Testament of Jesus Christ), we pray in the name of Christ, and we fill our homes and churches with images of Christ. Most importantly, we talk about, teach about, and strive to follow Jesus Christ. Our entire Church is centered around helping members develop a personal relationship with Christ and follow Him. We believe in the same Christ from the New Testament, because we believe in the Holy Bible. Are we Christians? Undeniably! Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mallorie
Women are highly regarded in the Church. We have distinct responsibilities and gifts given to us by Heavenly Father as women. We are all taught to honor the divinity our gender, both male and female. We are truly equal partners. Show more Show less
