Hi I'm Heather

I'm a food lover. I'm family oriented. I'm a sister. I'm an avid disciple of Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm not really sure what to say besides I am a highschool student, I have been homeschooled my whole life. I am intending on going to the nearby community college to do running start. I'm not good at sports or really anything that you would normally expect a teenager to be good at. I like to learn. I like to spend time with my family and help other people. I like to bake and cook, and learned how to from my mother. My best friends are my family, and I love them all dearly. My friends are important to me and so is my church. I love my Savior and think about my church often. I spend most of my time doing school, spending time with my family, and going to church. I want to be a chef after highschool. I want to go on to own my own resturant. I want to make people happy with my food. I also want to adopt when I am eventually married. I want to give children without families a fighting chance, I want to give everyone a chance to love and be loved. That's what I believe in. I also believe in God, I believe He loves me and wants the best for me. I believe in Jesus Christ. He is my savior and redeemer, my heavenly brother, who leads and guides me. That's who I am.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a born a member of the LDS or Mormon church. I think I stayed a member because of my family and my Savior. I have a testimony that my church is true and that I can be with my family forever if I do what is right. I'm a Mormon because I believe in the Book of Mormon and every aspect of my church. I have doubted in the past, but that only made my testimony stronger. I have a strong testimony that Joseph Smith saw God and His son Jesus Christ. I have a testimony that he was a prophet of God as Moses was. I have a testimony that our prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, is a prophet. I have a testimony that he directs and guides the Mormon church through the will of the Lord. I have a testimony that Jesus Christ suffered and died for all men that we might come to live with Him and our Father in Heaven again someday. I have a testimony that the Bible is also the word of God. I have a testimony of the Word of Wisdom that helps us to remember to keep our bodies healthy. I have a testimony in The Plan of Happiness and that God created that plan to bring us all back to His presence. And that, is why I'm a Mormon. Because this church is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating and helping in my community. I help plan activities for the girls in my congregation. I help people who are in need, and try to treat others the way I would like to be treated. The Savior asked us all to love on another, I try to live by His example. I pray every night before I go to bed, because without talking to my Father in Heaven before I close my eyes I can't seem to sleep. I don't always read my scriptures, I try, but sometimes its hard. It gets better as time goes on though. It's easier everytime I read to understand and apply the things in the scriptures to my life. I go to church every Sunday to learn more about the church. It's a learning process, I don't know everything, no one does. It takes time and earnest study of the gospel and scriptures to understand it all. I go to seminary every morning at six o'clock on week days to learn about the scriptures. It's hard, so hard. Staying awake the rest of the day is always a challenge, but it is so worth it. To learn more about the plan that God has for me is important, it strengthens me in all that I do. Knowing that He really loves me and has a plan for me keeps me happy. Knowing that I will be with my family forever makes me happy. That is how I live my faith.

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

Heather
We believe that if we live the gospel of Jesus Christ as He would want us to that we will be able to live forever with our families. We believe that eternal life will be after this life, that after we pass on we will -if we do our best to obey the commandments- be with out families forever and be resurrected as Christ was. This life is hard and there are trials and tests, but we have trials and tests so that we might overcome them, and move past them. I know that we can all make it to eternal life if we just try our hardest to be our best. Show more Show less
