Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I am a wife and mother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up in the Mesa/Gilbert, Arizona area my entire life and I love it! I married my best friend, Brian, and we have two beautiful daughter. My biggest joy in life is being surrounded by family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both converts. They joined the church after they had gotten married. The first time they got married was when they eloped to Las Vegas. The second time they got married was when my grandma insisted on a more formal wedding in the Lutheran Church. The third time was in the LDS temple for time and all eternity. By the time I was born my parents had been members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 10 years. My parents have stayed active in the church their whole lives, and for that, I am grateful to them. Before my dad got baptized as a member of the Mormon Church he was a rock 'n roll drummer. He backed up famous rock bands and had a completely different lifestyle then most of the LDS congregation! I am grateful to my parents for concentrating on the loving members that welcomed them with outstretched arms. The members loved what my parents brought to the church! I am so grateful for their conversion so that I could learn about the gospel and gain a testimony of my own. I can't imagine going through my life without the knowledge of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. There have been times when I have felt like giving up. I'm sure we have all been there. For me it has usually been when I have felt ill. In those moments I think of the Savior in the Garden of Gethsemane. He is the only one that knows how I am feeling. I am so grateful that he atoned not only for all of my sins, but for every pain and ache that I have ever felt. I feel so blessed to have a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father. I speak to him everyday. Our Heavenly Father loves all of his children, not just children from long ago, but his children here on the earth today. He has given us a living prophet to direct and guide us and tell us the things that Jesus would say if he were here today. The gospel and my family are the biggest blessings in my life. That is why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I have the wonderful responsibility of teaching and sharing the gospel each Sunday with the children ages 4-11. They have a Sunday School lesson with their own age groups and their own teacher and then all of the children come together to sing songs and learn a special lesson.
