Hi I'm Cathleen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the proud mother of three wonderful grown (and nearly grown...) children, two daughters and a son. My family, including my incredible husband, is the centerpeice of my life. I have had the profound blessing of being married to my best friend for 26 years. Nothing matters to me more. I enjoy archery, cycling and hiking, as well as oil painting and knitting. I am also an attorney practicing in civil litigation with a speciality in insurance. I have been practicing law for about 12 years, and have achieved an "AV Preeminent" peer review rating in my area of expertise. I am a member of Mensa, and serve as a Gifted Child Coordinator for Mensa Youth. I also volunteer as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) where I represent the interests of abused and neglected children. As an undergrad, I studied abroad in Bonn, Germany. I graduated with a degree in German literature and history, and also did a course of study in biochemistry. I had the opportunity to work at the University's Water Chemistry lab involved in environmental research, as well as interning at the Cytogenetics and Microbiology labs of two hospitals. I later attended Law School while working full-time for an insurance company. In Law School I served on the editorial board of the university's international law review journal.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Church. 17 years ago I was drawn to it primarily because of the wonderful people I found myself surrounded by. I first became involved with the Church when several missionaries visited my home. I loved to talk about theology and philosophy having been raised a minister's daughter. I welcomed anyone into my home that said they had a message from God. During the course of my introduction to the Church, I kept looking for a flaw, but to this day have found nothing wrong theologically with the core Christian tenets of the Church. Since I was a child I have considered myself an unshakable adherent of the teachings of Jesus Christ, and saw all of His teachings perfectly reflected in the Church.

How I live my faith

My calling is to teach in Relief Socierty once a month. With my job, it is sometimes hard to coordinate my lessons. But I usually find strength and inspiration from prayer, and from the loving support of my fellow ward members.
