Hi I'm Jessica

I live in Colorado with my husband and three kids. I am a full time chef, counselor, maid, tutor.....i.e.MOM and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

At this point in my life my main focus is caring for my husband and three children. It's the best and hardest job I've ever had. I love to read! Mostly novels and self help:) I also like to swim and ride my bike. I am learning how to crochet and have found it to be very therapeutic. Try it! I grew up in Utah. I met my husband when I was twenty one and we were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 2000. We just had our eleventh anniversary and he is still my favorite person! We moved to Colorado a year or so after we were married (he's a native) and have really loved living here. Most of my family is still in Utah, sometimes I miss them terribly but it makes it so much fun when they come to visit. The biggest challenge I have faced in my life thus far has been the health of my youngest daughter. It's a tremendously long story but it comes down to her having a life threatening seizure disorder which led to brain surgery to remove a large portion of the right side of her brain. During this process we were faced with bad news on top of bad news and many impossible decisions. Decisions we could not have made with out guidance from the Lord. I am so thankful we did not have to face that horrendous ordeal alone. It was hard to see it at the time, there was so much going on, but now as I look back It is clear that we were carried through that experience.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child and youth my family and I were sporadic in our church attendance. At that time I did not understand how the spirit worked but I did notice that I always felt really good when I went to church or to church activities. It was not until I was nineteen and living on my own that I decided to reach out to my Bishop for guidance. He gave me great council, and as I heeded his council I saw and felt a great change in my life and in my heart. It was then that my testimony really grew and became the foundation for my life. I am so thankful to be a part of the Lord's church, it has brought joy into my life I never knew was possible.

How I live my faith

Currently I am enjoying being a teacher at church for the adult women's class. I fell a great responsibility to these women, they all have very full, busy lives and if they are going to give me an hour of their precious time it is my job to create an opportunity for them to learn something valuable and be uplifted. I am learning so much and feel blessed to have the opportunity to share my testimony with others in a group setting.
