Hi I'm Rand

I've been a Mormon all my life. I am a representative of Jesus Christ in the Argentina Posadas Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am very lucky to have been born to parents who love the gospel of Jesus Christ, and strive to give me every chance to succeed. I am grateful for all the opportunities I have in my life. In high school I was very involved in athletics (wrestling and football), academics, and school clubs. All of the experiences that I have had before my mission have prepared me to serve the people of Argentina and Paraguay in the Argentina Posadas Mission. I am so excited to serve the Lord by inviting others to come unto Christ by loving Him and teaching them just as he would if he were on the earth today. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve a mission: for the great lessons that I will learn, the lives I will be able to touch, and the relationship with my Heavenly Father that I will be able to strengthen. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a Mormon all my life. As I've grown older I've come to see all of the blessings that come from being Mormon. The trials and struggles many other people in the world face with fear and pessimism, I can face with hope and optimism because I have an eternal perspective: I know that we were all sent to this Earth to learn and grow. We have a loving Heavenly Father who wants the best for us and has provided us with prayer so that we can communicate with Him and the Spirit so that we can be guided, protected, and comforted. I am a Mormon because the knowledge the gospel brings makes me happy. I have a younger brother who passed away 12 years ago when he was 4 months old. I miss him a lot, but the pain is swallowed up in the love of God. No matter what happens in this life, I will always be happy, because I know that Christ died so that I could live, and that if I live my life right I can be with Heavenly Father and my family forever in happiness. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and asked God to know if it was true. I later gained a knowledge that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith is a prophet and that Christ's true church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ever since then this knowledge has grown and deepened and brings me so much joy and peace in my life.

How I live my faith

A few months before I began the process of obtaining a mission call I was stressed out with school and my plans for college. I did not know what I wanted to do for a profession and just could not stop thinking about it. Then one day I prayed to my Heavenly Father to know what I should do. He answered me by directing me to Doctrine and Covenants 16. It felt like God was speaking directly to me when I read these words "Hearken, my servant [Rand], and listen to the words of Jesus Christ, your Lord and your Redeemer...many times you have desired of me to know that which would be of the most worth unto you...And now, behold, I say unto you, that the thing which will be of the most worth unto you will be to declare repentance unto this people, that you may bring souls unto me, that you may rest with them in the Kingdom of my Father." I still do not know what I will do for a career, but for now I have received inspiration from my Heavenly Father that I must live my faith by inviting others to come unto Christ and to help them receive the great blessing that the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings. I will live my faith by giving my life to the Lord for His purposes: to bring souls unto Him.
