Hi I'm Andina Budiyono

Serving in Riverside California Mission..... Proud to be a Mormon..

About Me

I was adopted into parents who are already members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My mother was converted in her mid teen years. My father was converted before he was married to my mother. Their marriage did not last long and I had to grow up with a single parent and brother who was also adopted. Since my early years, I have had the passion of playing piano. My mother took me to a ballet class what I was very young. I truly love art and music. July 2008, I had the happiest feeling that I have never felt before. I started a new life in whole different world, the United States with my mother and step father. It was difficult to leave wonderful friends, family, and life in Indonesia, but I am very grateful for the choice that I have made. It was also difficult to live in the environment where I do not really speak the language and have no friends. After a year of five English classes, I am now confident enough to speak to those around me. I still play piano and violin. I love to sing and serve the Lord. I am grateful for my challenges. They help me grow and see how much the Lord loves and has blessed my life in many ways and that He is always there to help me. I'm currently serving in Riverside California Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My mother and primary teachers helped me to know and learn about the Gospel. As a little child, it was easy for me to believe what adults said, but as I learned the Gospel, it was not an easy thing for me to learn. I prayed and asked God if it is true. Through a calm and comforting feeling, I have come to know that the gospel is true. I was baptized because of my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, His teachings and His Atonement. I was still learning even after I was baptized. Prayer is the most powerful tool that I always use each time I have questions about the Gospel. I know Heavenly Father will answer my prayers. People around me may say that the Gospel is not true, but my testimony of Jesus Christ will not fade away. My testimony is my foundation. I know and believe that Heavenly Father has sent His son, Jesus Christ, to teach and sacrifice for us. I know Jesus is the Christ and without His sacrifice, we cannot return to our Heavenly Father. I know the challenges we face are for us to learn and grow. I want and will always continue to follow His gospel because I know the gospel of Christ can bless my life for all time and eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living the two greatest commandments, to love God and others. Everyday I strive to be closer to God. Prayer, scripture study, and keeping His commandments have drawn me closer to Him. I love others as much as I love myself. I love serving everyone and make their days bright. Christ has shown the perfect example of who we really need to be and so I'm trying to be more Christ-like each day.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Andina Budiyono
Joseph Smith was the prophet of God just like Moses, Abraham, and Isaiah. When he was 14, he asked God in reverent prayer. God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to him and gave him some directions to fulfill God's mission on earth. Through Joseph Smith, the fullness of the gospel is once again restored.
