Hi I'm Brandon

I coach football. I love to teach. I love my family, both here on earth and up in heaven. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up without a true father figure, I clang to sports for a sense of family. My mother tried her hardest to raise my brother and me the best she could, but working full time we had our struggles. One thing that she made sure we had access to no matter what the cost, was sports. I grew up playing football, basketball, & baseball. I learned the value of a team and working hard to get what you want in life. After graduating high school, I fueled my love for sports by becoming a football coach for a local high school. I have been blessed to be part of teams that were not very good, where I learned patience, and a team that won multiple state championships which taught me hard work. My love for coaching and teaching grew and I returned to school to become a teacher. I now am in a Master’s degree program for teaching and continue to coach football. I am a father and a husband to my beautiful family, who I will be with for eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that our heavenly father has established his church here on earth. He has given us a chance to live with our families for time and all eternity. I grew up in a poor neighborhood and experienced things at a young age that no child my age should have to experience. I grew up an angry person, who blamed his problems on the world. It was not until I met my wife when I was 17 did she and her family open my eyes to the gospel and the joy it could bring into my life. I believe that my heavenly father watches over me and times when I feel like I can’t do it any longer, carries me through those times and provides me with blessings to see me through. My wife taught me about temple marriage and eternal families. I learned that to be Mormon does not mean that I have to be perfect, and that’s ok! I will make mistakes along the way, and our heavenly father has given us a way to return to live with him. I’m Mormon because I know that his church is here on earth, and I am a part of it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example to those around me. I am a teacher within our ward and have the opportunity to not only teach young men outside of the church, but my peers within the church. I love this opportunity because I learn just as much, if not more, than those who I am charged with teaching. I am eager to serve when called upon. There is nothing greater to feel the spirit of the lord than when you are in his service. My goal in life is to be a great example to those around me. You never know when someone might ask about being Mormon, and when that time comes I hope and pray that I have done my part to show them how I live my life. I also live my faith by making sure I am striving to be the best father and husband that I can be. If I can be an example to them and show them that Mormon or not, you treat people with respect and love, then I have done my job as a father. We are all our heavenly father’s children and should love and serve one another as such.
