Hi I'm Lauryn

I am a girl who likes cheese and randomness. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy going for walks, listening to audio books, playing with my niece and nephews, watching movies and learning new things. I am currently serving as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Indiana. I've always wanted to go on a mission and now I can't imagine my life without having come out here. It has literally changed my life and I would never trade my mission experiences for anything in the world. I graduated from Snow college and am planning to move forward with my education in Social Work when I return home. I love life and appreciate all the wonderful people who have made me who I am today and helped me remember that I need to be more humble, happy and grateful.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints but just like most other people reached a point in my life where I needed to make my own choices on religious affiliation. Just like most beliefs or opinions, mine have been strengthened the most when they've been questioned or tested. Because of that, I try to be grateful for trails and hard times in my life, I have learned from personal experience that "what doesn't break you makes you stronger". One of the biggest reasons why I believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lords kingdom on the earth today is because it has never let me down. When I pray and read the scriptures and live by the principles taught therein, I receive blessings, peace, strength, and most importantly for me, hope. Even if none of it was true, it has helped me to live a meaningful, happy and hopeful life. What more could anyone ask for? In other words, faith - or I should say word. I have faith that this church contains the fullness of the gospel and it will help me be the most Christ-like person I possibly can.

How I live my faith

I am trying to be a dedicated servant of the Lord, just like Joseph of Egypt who was disowned by his brothers, but never forsook God, or Daniel who was thrown into the den of lions because he would never stop praying to Heavenly Father. A woman said to me that when she gets to the other side she does not want God to ask her "Where were you when my child needed food or a place to lay his head or clothes on his back?" I echo her desire, I want to be there when the Lord asks me to serve, whether that be in His church, in my own family's home, a neighbor's home, the Dominican Republic or Indiana. I don't want Him to ask "where were you?". That is how I am trying to live my faith today and that is how I plan to live my faith for the rest of my existence.
