Hi I'm Carianne

I'm a sister, a daughter, a blogger, a student, an adventurist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young, ambitious learner who loves to try new things. Volunteering is a passion of mine. I treasure each experience. My most recent experience was being able to serve in Moscow, Russia as a English teacher for the International Language Program for 4 months. I also volunteered at a Deaf and Blind School, where I learned how to sign and become more fluent in the beautiful, visual language of ASL. The Christmas Box House is another organization that I have been able to volunteer at and have had memorable experiences serving with homeless children. I have also served a full time mission for my church in Seattle, Washington for a period of 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. My mother grew up all over the U.S. and relied on her faith to cope through difficult challenges with moving. My father was a convert to the church who discovered the power of the Book of Mormon. Through daily reading and prayer he was able to be healed of the wounds from his mother's death. The testimony or faith of my parents helped me to cope through my own challenges in life. I have witnessed the power of the Holy Ghost which has testified to me that by living the gospel of Jesus Christ I am doing the right thing. I know that I cannot receive this powerful feeling in any other church. The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints is truly the same church which existed when Jesus Christ was upon the earth, which is why we bare his full name.

How I live my faith

My love for volunteering stemmed from my activity in the church. I have been a congregational chorister and have learned how to conduct a full choir. I also visit sisters in the ward who may need comfort or uplifting. I also have been a leader for girls ages 14-16 by organizing and preparing activities and lessons for their learning and growth. Growing up I also have participated in many planned service projects including a zoo clean-up for the Chaffee Zoo, street clean-ups, planting flowers, humanitarian projects, etc.
