Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a wife, a mother and a convert to the church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young stay at home mother of a sweet baby boy and the wife of a loving husband. I come from an Italian and Puerto Rican family, so I get the best of both worlds when it comes to food and personality. I have an older brother who has always been a great example to me to work hard and reach for my dreams. I enjoy writing and I keep a blog to document the fun and memorable things I get to do with my family. Taking care of my son takes up most of my time, but when I'm able to do other things, I love to do crafts of any kind, read, and be anywhere outdoors. In college I studied a handful of subjects that intrigued me, but I love to learn and can't seem to tie myself down to one thing. I love to sing, dance, laugh and be silly. I try to enjoy every moment in life--I don't want anything to pass me by.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have had several instances in my life that have proven the truthfulness of the gospel to me. I learned about The gospel of Jesus Christ in high school and was baptized for my 18th birthday. I personally prayed about the prophet Joseph Smith as well as The Book of Mormon. I felt good about both, so I continued to take lessons from the missionaries. It was the second lesson on the Plan of Salvation when I first felt the Holy Ghost. Since that night, I have never been able to deny what I know. This church is the only true church on the face of the earth and it has blessed my life incredibly. Through my conversion I learned that Jesus Christ is not only the Savior of the world, but my personal savior. I learned to believe in God and have a personal relationship with Him. I learned, and continue to know all these things as well as the fact that I am a Daughter of God. This truth has comforted me in the hardest of times. Knowing that Heavenly Father knows me personally makes me feel worthwhile and like I have a divine purpose on this earth. I'm a Mormon because I want my family to be together forever. I love the power and influence that my temple covenants have on my life and I am grateful that the Lord can promise me my family for the eternities as long as I keep my promises to Him.

How I live my faith

My husband and I are privileged to teach the 16-18 year old class on Sundays. We are able to teach them through example and through the scriptures as they teach us with their deep testimonies. I love to visit the sisters I am assigned to each month and develop relationships with them. I attend church weekly, and the temple at least monthly, but most importantly, I implement the gospel into our home daily. Whether it be through Family Home Evening each week, singing or playing the hymns, or daily scripture study and prayer, I try to invite the Spirit into our home no matter what I do. The most important thing for me to do is to teach my son about the gospel and that is also something I try to do as often as possible. I strive to be an example to those around me and to be a true disciple of Christ at all times.
