Hi I'm Mike

I grew up in Northern California, I'm a sales professional and love coaching basketball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play games...sports, card games, you name it, I love to have fun. I am a husband of 16+ years and father of five beautiful children. I met my sweetheart in 4th grade and we started dating as juniors in high school. I love to travel to see the beautiful places the earth has to offer. I am currently living through my first teenage driver...oh what fun that is! Can't wait for the other four to start, I should be a pro by then. I have visited every state but Alaska and Montana. I enjoy working with youth and helping them to see their potential in becoming the leaders of tomorrow. I have coached boys basketball and found it very rewarding.

Why I am a Mormon

I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it is Christ's restored church on the earth. As a young man I read the Book of Mormon and followed the promise given by Moroni that if I should read the words, ponder them in my heart, and ask God if they were true he would answer my prayer. The spirit has witnessed the truth of the Book of Mormon to me over and over again, I know it is the word of God. Knowing that I am in the true church, has helped me learn more about the plan that my Heavenly Father has for me and all of his children on earth. I know where I came from before birth, why I am on earth today and what my purpose is, and where I will go after this life is finished. It gives me great happiness to know that Heavenly Father cares about me and knows me individually. The Lord speaks through prophets and has always done so from the creation of Adam through today. Families are an essential part of Heavenly Fathers plan and it makes me happy to know that I can be with my family forever. Having this knowledge helps me put my family first and helps keep things in perspective. I invite you to read the Book of Mormon, and ponder its teachings and sincerely pray and ask Heavenly Father if it is true or not and you can have the same witness of the truth that I have had.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my example, trying to be more like the savior and follow his teachings. I serve as the young mens president in my ward where I teach and advise the young men ages 12 - 18. We hold weekly activities with the youth that ranges from providing service to others, to career development, to scouting activiites, and sports. I love working with the youth and it helps me stay young! Recently we helped another church with the maintenance of their cemetary, which had become overgrown and run down. It was great to work with other churches in our community to help one another. That service project was a lot of fun. I love to serve others.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Mike
No, the church encourages its members to be involved in community and government affairs but in no way endorses candidates or parties. The church teaches correct principles and allows the members to govern themselves. Everyone should do their part, being involved in politics, and community affairs benefits all regardless of what "side" you are on. Show more Show less
