Hi I'm James

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well... My Name is James. Im 18 years old. I currently live in TX with my family. We just moved here from Vegas in June of 2011 so its been a bit of an adjustment. I graduated high school in 2010 and then went to college for a year at Brigham Young University. I know typical mormon answer BUT i definitely never saw myself going there. It was maybe the summer before my senior year thatI really started narrowing down colleges and figured out that BYU was actually a great school. College was a great time and I made a lot of close friends I'm currently getting ready to serve a Mission and I'm so excited to go to the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West Mission. I'm super excited to learn spanish considering both my Dad and Step Mom are fluent. I love to play guitar and write music. In college i actually took up rapping... it turned out better than i though it would haha. My favorite sport to play is soccer. Ive played since i was probably 7 or 8 years old and played all four years of high school. I'm Loving life and am looking forward to the future!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Church. I am a mormon, because my Step Mom married my Dad. So as a part of the family I just was supposed to go to church. Those first few years of my membership, I just took EVERYTHING in. I was learning so much and I loved the feeling of going to church and being around people that understand me and care about me. It took me a little while, but I did end up realizing that I wanted to be apart of the Church because I wanted to. Not just because i tagged along when i was a kid. I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy and it helps me come closer to my savior Jesus Christ

How I live my faith

I think the best way I do so is by my decision to serve a mission and i cannot wait to serve and love the people of the Dominican Republic

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

James
There are absolutely no restrictions based on race or color. As a hispanic/Caribbean person born and raised in the US I actually am somewhat proud to call myself a member of the church and a holder of the priesthood. Show more Show less
