Hi I'm Jessica Fife

I'm from Colorado. I am currently serving a mission in Florida. I love to sing and play the violin. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving in the Florida Jacksonville Mission! It is the best decision I've made thus far. I am already seeing all the blessings that come from being a servant of the Lord. I am serving for 18 months teaching others about the gospel of Jesus Christ and how much it has blessed my life. It is hard, but it is worth it to teach others of their divine purpose on this earth and that each and every one of us has a loving Heavenly Father who wants us to return to live with Him again. I am loving every day of it! When I return in October 2014, I will be continuing my education at Brigham Young University-Idaho, majoring in Nursing. I enjoy singing, playing the violin, and playing piano. I know God has blessed me with musical talents, and I love to share those with others, especially in a spiritual aspect. I love playing/singing church hymns and bringing the spirit into the hearts of the people that hear. Music has a special way of inviting the spirit when used appropriately. I find that when my companion and I sing hymns during lessons it invites the spirit and the investigators can feel of that spirit so much stronger! Other hobbies I have are running, reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends! I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

Being born into the church by goodly parents, I had always known what was right and wrong. When I was eight years-old and being baptized, however, I didn't quite have a full understanding of what was happening. Since then, I have made it a priority to read my scriptures, attend church, pray to my Heavenly Father, share my testimony with others, and have witnessed my faith grow. I feel I am truly converted to this gospel, and I know that because I accepted the challenge in Moroni chapter 10, and still continue to pray to Him asking if these things are true. I know the Book of Mormon to be the truest account on the earth today, and it was translated by the power of God by His chosen prophet, Joseph Smith. I know this because of the warm feeling I feel as I read it. It has every truth we need to know on this earth to lead us back to Christ. I am a Mormon because this gospel and its teachings bring happiness and purpose into my life. I know why I am here. I know where I am going. As members of Christ's restored church, we have all the knowledge of how to return to live with our Father in Heaven again. I know He knows me personally as I pray to Him and my prayers are answered. He knows me more than myself. I still have lots to learn, and that is why I'm down in Florida teaching others about the Restored Gospel! I know that as I serve, I will be blessed with knowledge and guidance, and will become more like Him because of it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by talking to people and teaching them what I believe every day as a missionary in Jacksonville, Florida! There are always those that make fun, or question my beliefs or standards, and to be honest, sometimes it's hard to stand for what is right. But because of the covenant I made on my baptism day, I will stand as a witness of God at all times, and in all things, and in all places. I will never break that covenant, because it was a sacred promise I made to my Heavenly Father. I have to do my part so I can live with Him again. I feel everyday is a new mission, and because of that I love studying the scriptures so I can be prepared when the moment comes. I love sharing God's Plan of Salvation, and telling people why they are here on earth and their purpose they have here. I want to live everyday of my life living as Christ's disciple and teaching/showing others about His divine love for them.

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

Jessica Fife
This is one of my favorite questions to answer, because it is something I am preparing everyday for. We all are given resurrected bodies, but will be separated into different kingdoms depending on our works on Earth, judged by the most fair judge, Jesus Christ. I know that if I am worthy to enter the temple everyday, I can prepare to be sealed to my future spouse and future family for eternity. I can live with them forever and ever, in God and Christ's presence. That is something I never want to sabotage, so I continue to live the advice, "Don't give up what you want most, for something you want now." Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Jessica Fife
We will gladly teach you simply what we know to be true! We know that Christ's one church is again on the earth today and that it has personal relevance for EVERYBODY. It means we have the fulness of the truth and as you gain faith, repent, are baptized (by the correct authority), receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end, "thus saith the Father: ye shall have eternal life"! (2 Nephi 31:20). Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Jessica Fife
I know I came to know my Heavenly Father through sincere prayer in the name of Jesus Christ! I know it worked for me, so it will work for you. I like to think of Him as sitting right beside me, and I talk to Him as if He were right there. As I pray for peace, love, guidance, and forgiveness, the power of the Holy Ghost is evident as I feel calm and peaceful. No matter what we have done or no matter how far-gone we may feel, He is there! He hears and answers every prayer and is very mindful of each and every one of us. As we continue to build our faith in Him by keeping His commandments, we will feel His influence more and more in our lives and will begin to rely on Him more and more. His Spirit can be our constant companion and when we meet Him again someday, we will truly know Him because we are like Him! Show more Show less

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Jessica Fife
Baptism is the only way to get on the straight and narrow path to eternal life. One of my all time favorite scriptures says: "And now, if the Lamb of God, he being holy, showld have need to be baptized by water, to fulfil all righteousness, O then, how much more need have we, being unholy to be baptized, yea, even by water!" (2 Nephi 31:5). I love that scripture because it reminds me of my own nothingness :) Christ was PERFECT and He was baptized! So we, being prideful little mortal earthlings, absolutely NEED to be baptized. If Christ did it, then we must. "Follow me, and do the things which ye have seen me do" (2 Nephi 31:12).
