Hi I'm Catie

I grew up in the west and moved around a lot. I want to be a pediatric nurse. I 'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a full time mission in the Mississippi Jackson Mission and loving it! I really want to do something in the medical field and work with children. I grew up in a part-member family and that really changed my life and who I am. I love my family and they are a big part of my life. Both of my parents are converts to the church and so none of my extended family has joined the church(yet)! I have the opportunity to share the gospel maybe not in lessons but through my example and the happiness that I receive by being a member of the church. I love to read and fill my mind with books that are of a spiritual nature and those that I love to sit and just enjoy. Music is a passion of mine. I love to listen, sing and direct music.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that my Savior lives. I know that He loves me and He knows who I am. I have seen close family members who don' t have the gospel and how it affects their life. I am happy and grateful for my mom and her faith. I know that the Holy Ghost is real. I know that He can and will answer our prayers. I have had it happen to me multiple times and I want His companionship with me always! I know that life is not all sunshine and rainbows. Yet I know that my Savior will not give me anything that I cannot handle. I know that I can go to my Heavenly Father and Savior in prayer with my concerns and gratitude. I know that this church is true, I don't know where I would be without the gospel and I cannot wait to be light unto the world and an example to my family.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being happy and choosing to live my life in a way where people can see that I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. Life is not always easy and we have mountains to climb and bridges to cross but knowing that we have a Savior who loves us, who died for us and who lives now and is ever present in our lives makes it that much easier to get through the day. I live my faith by striving to become like my savior every day. Trying to serve those who are in need and do as our Savior would do.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

We need a savior because we are imperfect people. We have been gived a promise that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father only if we repent and "become as a little child, sumbissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord.." (Mosiah 3:19). We need a Savior to feel and receive that peace and hope that comes from Him and only Him and not from the world. We need a Savior to know that we can dust ourselves off when we have gone through a trial and we can get up and try again. We need a Savior to know that we are not alone in this world. That we have someone who loves us and that knows exactly what we are going through. Show more Show less
