Hi I'm Micaela

I love to laugh until it hurts and dance until I drop because life is beautiful! And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am currently getting my undergraduate degree in elementary education. I want to teach school in English and Chinese. I hope that someday I can influence my students to love everyone and just be happy! I love to sing, dance, eat, and swim. What makes me feel most successful is making people laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized into the church when I was eight. Although I was born into a family that already was active in the church, I believe everyone needs to have their own conversion to Christ-- including me. I can't point out a specific moment when I really knew I was converted to Christ. It was rather just a process that started from daily prayer and studying the gospel throughout my life. I think the reason I'm still part of this church is because I know Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know this is His restored gospel. The gospel is my life and my life is the gospel. The gospel isn't something that we just live on Sunday for the few hours when we go to church, but rather it is a pattern for a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life. I have seen the blessings of the gospel in my life and in the lives of the people I care about most-- and I know that it is only because this is true.

How I live my faith

One of the ways I live my faith is by trying to love everyone. I have accepted the call to serve a full-time mission in Taiwan. I love the opportunity I have right now to share the gospel with everyone I meet (despite the language barrier)! Even though I am not perfect at it, I strive to live my life according to the example of Jesus Christ during His ministry. Often times, I pray that I will find opportunities to provide service for someone. When those opportunities arise, I try to follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost and help out. Most times I am not perfect, but as long as I try to be like my Savior, I know that someday I will be perfect like him.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I absolutely believe there are prophets alive today! I know that Heavenly Father loves all of His children so it makes sense that He would send us prophets today to help and teach us what He would have us know. I know that the prophets are inspired of God because I've prayed about it. When I listen to General Conference, I feel the spirit testify to me that the words of the prophets are from God. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet and I know that Jesus Christ is the head of our Church. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is the history of the people who left Jerusalem due to religious persecution around 600BC. It is a collection of the writings of ancient prophets and their dealings with the people and with God. I love the Book of Mormon. I have read it and felt of it's power. I know that it really is the word of God. I have invited people to read the Book of Mormon. Some people accept the invitation and some people don't-- but what I've noticed is that the people who read it end up happier than those who don't. So why not give it a try? Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Missionaries main purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ. Don't be surprised when they come into your home and talk about Jesus Christ. He is the center of our message and the center of our faith. They teach that through Christ we can overcome sin and other obstacles and return to live with our Father in Heaven again. Our unique message that missionaries will teach is the message of the Restoration of the gospel. We believe that after Christ established His church on the earth, He and His apostles eventually died. Their teachings were changed and His priesthood authority was taken from the earth. Recently this priesthood and his complete church was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. Our invitation is not to replace your beliefs, but to add to the knowledge that you cherish and invite you to come closer to Christ. Expect to feel the Holy Spirit and the Love of God when you talk with the missionaries. That is what we aim to do--help you know how important you are by teaching the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

The best way to increase our faith is to act on the belief we have. It's hard, especially right at first, to act on faith, but as we act and make decisions in accordance to the things we believe, we will receive a witness from the Holy Ghost that the things we're acting on are true.
