Hi I'm Marci.

I am a working mother of 4 children and love to serve others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I suffer from chronic pain but I try not to let it stop me! I enjoy deep satisfaction in hard work, and seeing a job well-done. I also enjoy serving my family and others, which I learned at an early age from the example of my wonderful mother. Having extremely creative, active children with weaknesses related to ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders), I have learned to be flexible and patient. One secret I have learned as a parent: instead of getting mad, tickle!! Being a parent has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. When I do get a break from the routines of the day, I enjoy playing piano, reading, exercising and pursing artistic endeavors. I am looking forward to the day when more time can be devoted to my creative side, but for now, I am content in spending my valuable time showing my family and others that I love them through service. I also love learning of other cultures, and meeting and befriending people of other backgrounds and faiths. I feel that I can learn so much from the valuable experiences of others!

Why I am a Mormon

I have always had an abiding faith in God and my Savior Jesus Christ. I remember when prompted by a school teacher to name our "hero", I was the only one in my class that said "Jesus Christ". I have had special, personal experiences throughout my life that have confirmed to me that God does love me, and knows me individually, and that my faith and belief in Him is true. I particularly remember the time when I gained my own personal knowledge that the Book of Mormon was true and that Jesus Christ is the Redeemer. While babysitting at night in a quite house, near the age of 16, I had my own very real confirmation delivered straight to my mind and heart by the Spirit of God while reading from the scriptures. It has been this experience along with many others that has sustained me through the whirlwinds of life. God has comforted me in times of deep trial and sorrow. I feel that in suffering from chronic pain, this personal trial has tempered me to be more sympathetic and patient with others. I believe God is teaching me endurance, faith and reliance upon Him. I know that God does love us each individually and personally.

How I live my faith

In the past, I have played piano and organ for our congregation and have taught children with music and activities. I have also spent several years teaching children's Primary classes with lessons based in the scriptures. I enjoy developing and sharing talents that God has given to me. I currently help with planning and execution of women's meetings where we learn self reliance and giving service to others. We recently made baby blankets to give to the local children's hospital. In my day to day activities, I find that life goes more smoothly with a deep inner peace if I have daily read from the scriptures and have prayed to my Heavenly Father. I know I can count on divine help as I turn my thoughts towards Jesus Christ and strive to live my life following His pattern and example.
