Hi I'm Renee

I'm a mother of 10, a grandmother of 25, a school secretary and a professional cake decorator and YES I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a potato farm in Idaho. I have been married to my sweetheart for 37 years. Although I came from a large family (8 children)I never dreamed that I would have an even larger one. But our 5 sons and 5 daughters have been the biggest blessing to me. Life has never been dull! They have taught me about love, service, and a need for prayer as I have tried to teach them about Jesus Christ. I was a 'stay at home mom' until my youngest was in 4th grade (he's now serving a mission in Texas). Then I went to work at his school, (hard to let go) and eventually followed him to a job at his high school, where I remain. I love working with teenagers. I have had my own cake decorating business for 30 years. I enjoy creating great things to look at and eat. Being a grandma is a great reward for having children. They are gifts from Heavenly Father and bring such joy to my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon faith, however there always comes a point where one must determine if those childhood teachings are true. I always believed they were, but when I was a college student I found out for myself through the witness of the Holy Ghost that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I know that Jesus is my Savior and only through Him can I return to live with my Heavenly Father who loves me. As I have studied the scriptures, both the bible and the Book of Mormon and I can feel the truth in their pages. I know that they are the words of God. I am grateful that God loves us enough to speak to us through a latter-day prophet just as He did in biblical times. I know that my prayers are answered and by living the commandments we can be happy. The gospel of Jesus Christ has brought peace and joy to my life.

How I live my faith

Belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ means that I try to live each day as a representative of Jesus. I make an effort to serve those who I associate with. Even the smallest acts of kindness can show my love for the Savior and His children. I work with the children at church and love hearing them sing "I Am A Child of God" and realizing that even a small child can feel and understand the Saviors love. Keeping the Sabbath day holy has been a blessing to our family as we recenter our life each week and renew our commitment to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
