Hi I'm Janet!!

I love my life and my family.

About Me

Hi, I'm Janet. I love being a wife and mother. I love to travel to any place near or on water. I love to dance. I love family game nights. I love my girlfriends. I love to read. I love to volunteer. I love knowing that I am a child of God who is blessed far beyond my own imaginings.

Why I am a Mormon

To me the Mormon church is a solid rock tI stand on. I have been a member of the church since 2004. I absolutely love the fact that no one is paid to run the church. We all work together to make sure the church runs properly. This includes the pianist, Bishop, church secretary, all the way up to the President of the entire organization. No one is more important than the next person. You can be Bishop of the church for a few years and then be Sunday School teacher for the next few years. I have always been impressed with church members putting their money, time, and efforts into living and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. It shows in all aspects of their lives, not just on Sundays. Many of us commit two years of our lives to serving full time missions. Jesus commanded us to love one another and that is exactly what we strive to do. Having the solid support of the church is important to me as a parent. The youth program gives the children and teens clear directives on how to live a happy life. The activities for them are loads of fun as well as safe and wholesome. The youth leaders are strong examples, and provide specific steps young people can take to avoid many of the pitfalls that can sidetrack a young person's life. It is important to me that the church believes that those that did not acccept the gospel of Jesus Christ on earth will have an opportunity to do so after death. We have a plan to support them as well.

How I live my faith

Most recently I exercised my faith when I married my eternal companion who is also a member of our church. I live my faith by listening for, and then doing, what God calls me to do. Whether its teaching Sunday School or helping to keep our church building clean. I strive to be more like Chirst. For me that means being kind to everyone, no matter what their station in life. Whether I am part of a team or lead a team, whether inside the church or at a community activity, I acknowledge that everyone has value and is important to the process. At our church we are assigned a member to visit on a monthly basis. I try to make it as easy as possible for the sisters to visit me and have it be a pleasant experience. I live my faith by showing up to church "whenever the doors are open", whether its for Sunday services, youth programs, or church activities.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Janet!!
The greatest gift I got from the Holy Ghost is the Church. When I was approached by the Missionaries I told them no thank you. However, it was the Holy Ghost that held the door open and invited them in. When they asked if they could come back to speak to me, I said no thank you. It was the Holy Ghost that had me call them later that evening. The rest is history. I know it was the Holy Ghost that introduced my husband to me and guides me as a wife. The gift of the Holy Ghost is an enormous blessing in my life as a parent. It whispers to me when I am in my own world and need to come out of it to listen to my children. It lets me know when danger is close to me or my children. The Spirit brings people into my life and me into theirs at the exact right moment with the blessing of a hug or a kind word. I have come to know peace and joy in my life because the Holy Ghost whispers to me that God loves me just as I am. Even as I strive to be better He knows and loves me just as I am. What a blessing it is to know that! Show more Show less
