Hi I'm Newt

I'm a Mormon Missionary Serving in the England London Mission

About Me

I am now serving a mission for the church but after my mission when I return home, I plan to return to Arizona State University where I am studying music performance. I'm a musician and I play Guitar, Ukulele, and I am a proficient Trumpet player. I have been into music for over 12 years now and It is my life. I love to make good music with family and friends and have a good time with them. I wish that I could've had more jam sessions with my grandpa before he passed away. He gave me the gift that I have today. I can hear the music in my head and I can feel it in my heart and I wish that he was still here with me on earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church because my mom was a convert as well as my dad. They brought me up in the church and for a long time I relied on their beliefs and just basically believed what they believed. When I was 8 my dad and mom got a divorce which was hard for me as a kid. I grew up fairly quickly even though I hadn't really gotten any older. And later on when I was a teenager I questioned my belief in the church. So I did what anybody should do if they really want to know If it is true, I read the Book of Mormon and I prayed to find out if this was really true. God did answer me that day and I just knew it was true and I knew that even though life is hard there are specific things we need to hang on to. Namely our family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I know that it is true because I read the book of Mormon to Find out.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping the commandments that god has given us. I study the Bible and the Book of Mormon and I pray all the time. I know that through my music I can express myself and my beliefs. My love for the Saviour and my love for my father in heaven. I live my life by becoming the best that I can be. By loving and serving others and trying to be like Christ. I am not ashamed of what I know I would tell everybody if I could because it is a blessing to know this happiness I feel all the time. That is why I decided to serve a mission because I can share this happiness and amazing truth with everybody, I can invite others to do what I did, to Read the Book of Mormon and ask God if it is his word and if it supports the bible. I serve a mission because I am happy and I want everybody to feel the happiness I feel.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Missionaries are just normal guys usually between the ages of 19 to 23 and they set apart two years to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you have missionaries over to your house they simply talk about; where we come from, why we're here and where we are going after life. They also talk about Joseph Smith and who he was and why he is important. They will most importantly share the Gospel of Jesus Christ which is easily described by 5 simple points: Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. They Invite you to read the Book of Mormon and pray and come to church which you can freely choose to do or not. They invite you to do this so you can make a decision and find out for yourself if this church is true. They aren't pushy or overbearing, they just ask you if that is something you want to do, to find out if it is true. Show more Show less
