Hi I'm Chuck

I'm a Mormon. I am 45 yrs old and have returned to church after 20 years and it feels great.

About Me

I am a 45 yrs old and Respiratory Therapist and I love my job. I went to school when I was 35 yrs old not knowing what to expect. I now have a family. We have a 4 year old boy who keeps us moving. I enjoy college football and we have a new interest in Geo-caching. Check it out it's fun as long as the weather is kind. We like to take a week each year to find a new place to vacation. San Diego, Washington D.C., and the occasional trip to New Mexico or Boise to catch up with the family have been recent trips. We love Montana with all its beauty and great people. Camping, fishing and discovering new places is how we spend our summers.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon but I became inactive for many years. I lived as many others do, doing what wanted, when I wanted without any regards to the principles I was taught in church. No matter what I was doing there was always a thought in the back of my mind making me wonder if I was doing the right thing. Twenty years had passed with this emptiness inside of me. I carried it around every day. I always felt I needed more in my life and I knew "someday" I should return to church. I married 6 years ago to a non-member and she would sometimes ask about the Mormon beliefs. The past two years the overwhelming feeling to return to church was hard to ignore and one day the missionaries knocked on the door and the rest is history. Now that I am active I realized what I was missing. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a wonderful blessing in our lives. I have just baptized my wife and I can testify to the power of prayer and how important the Gospel has become to our family. We have a wonderful feeling of love and a new found calmness in our household. I also have a more positive outlook throughout the day. I know and declare The Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. Our Heavenly Father loves all of us and with the Gospel in all of our lives there are many blessing promised and given to all those who can follow his commandments.

How I live my faith

We are recently active in our ward. My wife and I have made a commitment to try to meet someone knew each week. We feel accepted and have met many wonderful folks. It seems there is always a smile and a handshake waiting for us. We are taking a class each Sunday to introduce her to Gospel Principles. It also a reminder me of why I love this church. We hope to go to our ward Halloween party which sounds like loads of fun.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Chuck
The Bible is a very important work. It is the word of God. We read and study the Bible thoughtful, diligently, and with respect knowing the stories in it are true. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Chuck
Mormons are absolutely Christians. The belief in Jesus Christ is the center of our church, our faith, our worship. He is the head of our church and I pray each and every day to our Heavenly Father is His name. Jesus Christ is our oldest brother who through his atoning sacrifice made it possible for each and everyone of us to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father. The name of our church says it all....The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Show more Show less
