Hi I'm Clay

I grew up in Western Washington. I work in advertising and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and a dad. I have two crazy boys that fill my life with stress and joy. I love to play golf and I love to travel with my family. I work in digital media and am fascinated with new technology. What most people don't know about me is that I love Brazil and its people. Overall, I'm just a normal guy who wants to enjoy life and spend time with his family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as one of the few Mormons in my school. Most of my friends were of other faiths and most were curious about my faith. In my teenage years, I didn't know much about my own faith. After graduating from high school I decided to study and find out for myself if the Mormon church was true. My reading and studying of the Book of Mormon changed my life. As I read the words, I felt that God was answering my prayers in revealing his true church on the earth. The Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world and recounts his teachings through ancient prophets. By knowing the Book of Mormon was true, I knew that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, called by God to restore Jesus Christ's church to this earth. Throughout the last decade my faith has been strengthened through prayer, scripture study and by living the commandments of God. I worship God and his son Jesus Christ and know that this is their church. To be a Mormon doesn't mean you are better than anyone else. To be a Mormon places a responsibility on yourself to be a true Christian. To worship Christ through service and obedience to his commandments. I feel blessed to be a Mormon. It is who I am.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church each Sunday and serving as a Sunday School teacher. Each Sunday I have the opportunity to teach with my wife five and six year-old children. It is such an important calling as I have a responsibility to instruct these children about the teachings and life of Jesus Christ. It is very fulfilling to see these children grow in faith and understand the importance of following Jesus Christ. I also live my faith through service to others. I have to opportunity to serve and look over other members of the church. Once a month, I try to find time to visit several members of the church and ensure their temporal needs are taken care of and that they are being spiritually nourished through the teachings of a living prophet and the scriptures. It is a wonderful opportunity to serve. Most of all, I live my faith by being a loving father to my two children and my wife. Family is the focus of God's plan for us on earth and I feel that being a father and husband is the most important role anyone will have in this life.
