Hi I'm Ellen May Pritchett

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello my name is Ellen, I love life. In school my nick name was “Smiley”. I am a wife, mother, a business owner, a coordinator of a charity/community service group, & I've served in many responsibilities for my church. I enjoy ballroom dancing, basketball, scuba diving, cooking delicious-nutritious –beautifully displayed meals and spending time with my family. Together my husband & I own a Handyman & Contractor service with a Maid service division as well. It has become very successful over the years even with the declining economy. We are busy every day meeting the needs of our clients. I contribute a lot of our business' success to our faith in God, paying our tithing and doing our very best for others as if we were serving Jesus Christ. Our children are all greatly respected among their peers, teachers and leaders. They are high achievers in sports and in academics. We contribute their success to a good work ethic, that they are taught at church and during daily family scripture & prayer.

Why I am a Mormon

For me living the gospel gives me freedom and peace of mind. By following the 10 commandments, the word of wisdom and the guidance given by our prophet, I enjoy peace of mind. I don’t have to have any guilt haunting me, no worries and stress about “what if I get caught.” My relationship with others is good because people know they can trust me. I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers; I could fill a book of experiences where God has helped me when I’ve sincerely asked. I know that Jesus Christ is our brother and our Savior, that he is aware of our needs and helps us achieve our goals and righteous desires. I’ve had my share of hard times and I’ve felt the comforting arms of our Savior around me. I’ve heard his voice or the voice of his angels directing me at critical times in my life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives me purpose, direction and a meaning to this sometimes difficult existence on earth.

How I live my faith

I graduated from BYU Utah with a BA in Home Economics Education. I love teaching. I’ve taught sewing & cooking classes, I taught ballroom dance & ballet, & for a few years I owned and operated a private school for elementary children teaching creative arts, which my children participated in as well. My favorite teaching experiences have been at church. For more than 23 years I’ve taught children in the church's primary program: Music Chorister (kids 3-11), nursery (ages 1-3), Sunbeams (age 3), CTR 5 (age 5) and Merry Miss (11 yr. girls). Now my husband & I have been asked to be the young single adult advisors. It's new to me and I'm not sure all that I need to do, so I'll pray for guidance that I can do my Heavenly Father's will. I want to start by being a friend & listener to these young adults just graduating from High School, trying to find their path in life. I look at my own young adult children and I'm very pleased how they are turning out. My oldest daughter graduated from college, got married in the Temple, and serves as an elementary teacher. My next daughter is serving a mission, 3rd daughter is in college studing to be a nurse, 2 boys still in high school have high grades and many sports & scouting awards. I'm very pleased with my children and feel very blessed that God is part of our daily life.
