Hi I'm Sydni

I study medical assisting. I teach piano. I love to dance. I'm a Christian, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey! So here is a little about me. I was raised in the good ol' state of Georgia, and loved the diversity that was all around me. While I was in high school I was a drum major for the marching band, did theater, and loved to ballroom dance. Right now I am going to school to get my degree in medical assisting and I absolutely love it! I find the way the human body works to be fascinating and just another testimony to the glory and greatness of God.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in Georgia, all of my friends were of different faiths. I had friends that were Baptist, Catholic, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Atheist, Jewish, Non-Denominational, etc. So I had many opportunities to explore those different faiths. With every church that I went to, I would see truth. Each of my friends has some knowledge of what was truth, yet I always felt like something was missing when I would attend with them. My testimony of the church did not come in a sudden instant. As I have grown older I have read the Book of Mormon, listened to the teachings of the leaders of the church, and I have prayed... trying to develop a closer relationship with my Savior. I know now that God does love us. He is always there, listening to us, and willing to help lift us up out of any challenge that we may be going through. I know that our Savior is Jesus Christ, and that through Him we have the opportunity to live with God again. The atonement is real. The joy and happiness that it can bring to our lives is indescribable. I have seen it work miracles in my life, and in the lives of those that I love. I also know that the Bible is the word of God, as is the Book of Mormon. They both contain truth and lessons that can enlighten our minds and increase our faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that God answers our prayers. He may not answer us exactly the way that we expect, but we have to listen to our hearts, and he will touch us with the knowledge of truth in all things. This church is truly ordained of God. There is peace and joy to be found in the principles taught in this Gospel. "Gospel" literally means "Good News", and this is all that being a member of this church has brought me. If you truly wish to know what we believe, search it out for yourself through reliable sources. Like you are here! :) If you want to know more, ask the missionaries, they would love to tell you more about the church, and can answer any questions that you may have.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? Well, I believe that one's faith should come across in the way that they live. I personally try to live my life in such a way that would be pleasing to God. I do not participate in any activity that could come across as immoral or vulgar. I try to surround myself with things that are uplifting. In church I teach a Sunday School class of 12 year-old boys and girls. Lately I have been teaching them about the New Testament. Some of our recent lessons have been about the lost sheep, Christ's death and resurrection, and next week we will be talking about the apostle Peter and his ministry after Christ's death. I love teaching these children because they are always so excited to learn.
