Hi I'm Josh

I am a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in Washington. I have attended various schools of higher education in Washington. In my attempt to obtain a high degree of education, I took a deep and sincere interest in studying government. Through my effort I earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. I am a dad, and enjoy spending my time with my family. Among my interests I enjoy good comical or adventurous themed movies. In my studies, I love reading biographies, history, historical fiction, and fantasy. I am Eagle Scout, and I work with a local cub scout pack.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. When I was younger, I developed a curiosity in the doctrines of the church. I gained a powerful witness that there was more to this church then what meets the eye. Through my studies and personal prayer I developed a relationship with my savior, Jesus Christ. There came a time when I was younger that I began to question my religious beliefs. I came to the conclusion that what I was a part of was more extraordinary, and I became determined to understand it more fully. When I became 19, I made the decision to serve a 2 year full time mission of the church. I had the privilege of serving in the southern region of the United States. I came to learn that there was much more to life than what I had already known. Through my mission, I came to serve a people who had deep rooted convictions in their savior, Jesus Christ. Since my mission I have taken an interest in studying other religions of the world, and have furthered my study in the doctrines of the church. One to the most important parts one my convictions is my thorough study of the Book of Mormon. I know that book is an additional witness that Jesus Christ was really who he said he was. Though others may scoff at it and are afraid to even read it, I know the Book of Mormon is a witness that supports the teachings of the Bible. I am so grateful for added insight the Book of Mormon gives me in my studies of the Bible, and I treasure those precious words.

How I live my faith

In my worship, I spend three hours every Sunday attending church. The three hours spent are not like the typical worship service of other Christian denominations. The first hour is spent together as family in the chapel, and we receive spiritual and uplifting messages. The next two hours, the children go to Sunday School and study basic principles of the gospel. The adults go to various Sunday School Classes learning and discussing various gospel centered principles and messages. In my service at church, I teach a Sunday school class for 14 to 18 year old youth. Besides attending church on Sundays, I spend every day of the week studying scriptures and having prayer with my family. My religion is not something I participate in only on Sundays. My religion is something I practice every day of my life. I receive an uplifting feeling every day through my daily worship, which I will always be grateful for.
