Hi I'm Wayne

I'm a husband, I'm a father, I'm a grandfather, I'm a retired engineer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like being outdoors. Whether it is camping, hiking, walking, hunting, gardening or anything else that is done outdoors and out of the snow. As I have gotten older many of the more physical parts of the outdoors have taken a back seat but I still enjoy being out. I like being a husband and enjoy spending time with my wife. I like being retired because it has allowed me to travel and spend more time serving in our Church.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church but during my college days I was not very involved. After I met my wife I became more serious about the values I wanted to shape my life around and became what you might call "active" or "practicing and have tried to live my life in alignment with the teachings of the Church and what I feel Christ would have me do.

How I live my faith

Through the years I have had many opportunities to serve in the Church. I have taught the youth, been a boy scout leader and served in various leadership positions including being a Bishop. More recently my wife and I have served 2 missions and are now serving our third On our first mission we served as tour guides at a Church Historic Site. Our second mission was spent doing a variety of things. We worked at a community food bank. We shared the gospel as opportunities arose. We spent most of our time teaching English to non English speakers. Teaching English has been fun and rewarding, being able to help people learn a skill that could be life changing. We are now working in a mission office. What a great blessing it is to serve the Lord as we serve our Mission President and the young missionaries.
