Hi I'm Barbie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a busy mom of two beautiful children, married to the love of my life, Eli. I love to make cookies, read, swim, and spend time as a family. I love music - I play the piano, harp, and flute. I am very close to my mom and 5 sisters. I taught High School French for a couple of years before my kids were born. I love to travel. I have lived in Quebec, Belgium, and Portugal.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but at a young age I received a confirmation from prayer that it is true. I am grateful for the knowledge of Jesus Christ, my Savior and Redeemer. He is a real person, someone who cares about me. He has made it possible for me to repent and return home to my Heavenly Father. It brings me a lot of peace to know that He loves me, even if I feel alone. He is someone who hears my prayers and provides real answers through the scriptures. I have struggled with secondary infertility for many years, and I have appreciated His listening ear and peace that reached through my tears. I know that Heavenly Father has guided my life. I have met so many amazing people in my life, people I know that Heavenly Father meant to be in my life. I have had so many amazing opportunities, and I am so so grateful.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to always be kind to others, and to not judge. I know that most people are struggling with things that we aren't aware of, and that we need to give them the benefit of the doubt. I try to assume that everyone is doing the best they can. It is a gift I give myself! I have usually taught classes to adults and youth for my church calling, but this year I have been called to help with women's activities. It has been a fun and interesting challenge!

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is our Heavenly Father. He loves us! He wants us to learn and to grow. He sent us here to experience the good and the bad, and to learn to choose the good! God knows each of us. He wants each of us to return to him. Show more Show less
