Hi I'm Miguel Guzman

I'm a proud San Antonian, a missionary, a mariachi, a music fanatic and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I've been called to serve a Spanish speaking mission in South Carolina! I'm a huge music nerd, I love listening to, playing and learning about music, going to concerts and writing music reviews! I'm very much into just about every aspect of music and I hope to find a career closely related to it. I'm especially quite passionate about Mexican music, both new and old. I had the great privilege of playing violin in my dad's mariachi group "Mariachi Los Galleros de San Antonio" before coming out on my mission. When I'm not jamming out, I enjoy watching movies and swimming!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to church with my parents. With time and the normal stresses of life, we began to fall away from normally attending. Little by little the affects of stronger values and a foundation based on the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ led us all to be in differing but all the while confusing situations. It's not that we had become bad people or lost morals per say, but something was missing in our lives, even if we didn't know it. The only thing that could truly fill that hole was Christ and his Gospel. A number of different circumstances and the consistent love demonstrated by the missionaries and the members of our congregation brought us back into the fold. We've been actively attending and growing in our faith for a little more than 7 years now. Coming into the church again was a bit of an uncomfortable process, especially considering that I began to "re-activate" in the ripeness of my middle school awkwardness. Still, as I began to pray with more earnest intentions and read the Book of Mormon, I felt the swelling and filling of that gap I did not know needed to be filled. I yearned for more, though not as diligent as I could have been, I eventually came to the conclusion that I did have to ask for myself if this indeed was the true church of Christ. I can tell you that I have received a spiritual witness of the truth and divinity of these things. There is nothing that can cause me to deny that this is the truth. That is why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I used to direct the music during services at my home congregation in San Antonio. I am currently serving a mission in South Carolina! I get so happy when I can give service to others, demonstrate that Christ-like love and to teach people about Christ and his restored gospel.
