Hi I'm Kris

I have lived in Indiana most of my life. I'm a stay-at-home mom of four who loves having good, clean fun and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have four children that keep us very busy, but bring joy and understanding to our lives. I enjoy the beauty of nature, which led me to go back to school later in life to get a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Horticulture and Design. I love working in the yard/garden, going for walks, hiking, taking pictures, being crafty, finding bargain deals, being involved in my children's lives, spending time with my family, listening to uplifting music, and if I can make time, I like to read and exercise as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born to parents who had recently become members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was taught at an early age the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As I got older, I gained a better understanding of each principle and developed a knowledge and an assurance that what I was taught was true. My grandparents didn't agree with our beliefs and questioned many of the principles I had been taught, which helped me to sit back and think about what I really believed in. I knew that by following the commandments, reading the Book of Mormon, and following the living prophet, I was kept safe from many of the sorrows of the world and was much happier than those who did not do those things. I served a mission for the church and during that time I had many experiences that increased my testimony of the Savior, the restoration of his church, and of the latter-day prophets. I have received numerous answers to prayers and know that my Heavenly Father hears and answers them, even if they may seem small and insignificant. I have felt the love of my Savior and Heavenly Father and know they are there for me to help me be successful and they want the best for my family and me. Knowing that I have the potential to be with my family again after this life is very comforting. Being a Mormon gives me hope, peace, and a reassurance that there is a purpose to this life and that we have the responsibility to make the most of it during our time here on earth. If we do, God has magnificent blessings in store for us.

How I live my faith

A huge part of my life is teaching my children how to be respectful, kind, generous, and obedient. Because of this responsibility, I try each day to not only teach by words, but also by example, how to live a Christ-centered life. We take one evening a week to spend time learning more about the commandments and the words of the prophets in the scriptures, sing uplifting songs and do a fun activity together as a family. We try to read a few verses in the scriptures and have prayer as a family each day. I am also involved in our local congregation by attending Sunday meetings as well as other meetings that are planned to inspire and prepare us. Christ was the perfect example of serving others and mingling among the people. I find it rewarding and satisfying to find ways to serve my family, friends, and neighbors - whether they are Mormons or not. I have come to know that when I treat others with love and respect, they return that love. Everyone is happier and has a stronger sense of self-esteem and confidence. It's amazing what one little compliment or act of service can do!
