Hi I'm Connie Longhurst Rogers

I grew up in Arizona. "I am a Mormon"

About Me

My name is Connie, I have been married for fourty years. My husband and I have 6 children. We raised our children in a rural community in Arizona USA. We have 27 grandchildren. I worked as a dental assistant/receptionist for over 19 years. I love working with people and learning from them. I love to travel and see the beautiful creations that the earth has to offer. My husband and I are getting ready to serve a mission for the Lord. He has called us to serve in the Quezon City North Philippines Mission. We are very excited.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a Mormon as I have learned from my youth that the gospel is true. When I read the Book of Mormon for the first time I realized that everything that I had been taught as a child was within the words of that book. I felt the Holy Ghost whisper to me that the gospel is true and that what I had been taught all my life was true. Being a Mormon and believing in Christ has given me a strong foundation to weather life's storms. In the year 2005 I lost two sons in a head on crash. On the way to the hospital and not knowing the situation, I looked to the heavens and the Holy Ghost whispered to me, "No matter what, everything was going to be alright". The song "I Believe In Christ" came to my mind and I truly knew then that I believed on his words. I am thankful for Christ and all he has done for me. I am thankful for His Atonment and His resurrection and life.

How I live my faith

I have enjoyed serving my community by volunteering with the Hospital Auxillary. I helped the auxillary with fund raisers for college scholarships and I organized Blood Drives in the community. I have also enjoyed working with boys in the Boy Scouts of America program. I have worked both on the local and district level within the Boy Scouts. It is a great program to help boys reach their goals. I have enjoyed teaching the youth in our church. I have taught children from 18 months to 18 years old. This has been a great blessing for me as I have learned just as much from them.
