Hi I'm Marlynn

I was raised in Colorado and love to spend time outside with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my sweetheart and best friend for over 26 years now. I introduced him to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when we were 19 years old and it has been so wonderful to watch him grow in many different ways. We have raised 4 awesome children and have recently become empty nesters! I am still getting used to the quiet house, and I miss having my kids around all of the time. But I love only having a few loads of laundry a week. My oldest daughter is married and lives only about 15 minutes away, so I see her often. My second daughter served a mission for the church in The Marshall Islands, then when she got home, she married and they live about 10 minutes away. Right now my oldest son is serving a mission in Tallahassee, FL. He is doing great, but we really miss him. Our youngest son just started college at BYU-Idaho and is goind great so far. My husband has a heating and air conditioning company and I help him by managing the office. It is fun to work with him. It does keep him very busy though and owning your own company definately comes with it's share of stress. When we have time off, we enjoy spending time in the mountains, especially with our family and friends. Riding dirt bikes, hiking, boating, camping, skiing, ATVing. I work with the Young Women, ages 12-18 at church and I love it! Those girls teach me so much and I am so happy with the great choices that they make. I love my family and am so proud of each of them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church by the most wonderful parents, who were both full of love for life, their family and for the gospel. They taught me the truths of the gospel and they raised me in a loving and righteous home. They have both passed away and I miss them terribly. But I know that Heavenly Father has a plan of happiness for all of us and that we can have an eternal family and be together forever. It is wonderful to have the knowledge of the gospel. It brings so much hope and happiness to my live. There are times when I worry or when I am having a hard time dealing with life, but when I turn to my Father in Heaven, I am comforted to know that everything will be ok and the spirit testifies to me that I am not alone. I wish that everyone could have that knowledge. I have read the Book of Mormon, I have prayed to know that it is true and I have received a comforting feeling that tells me that it is the truth and that I need to follow the teaching and example of the Savior Jesus Christ and the prophets. I am so grateful to my Savior and for his atoning sacrifice for me. I know that through his sacrifice, that I can be forgiven for my sins and return to live with Him and my Father in Heaven and my family again someday.

How I live my faith

I have the great privilege to work with the 12-18 year old young women at church. We have some great youth in our ward. The youth program is so beneficial in helping the teenagers live higher standards and gain stronger testimonies of the gospel and build relationships with other teens with the same standards. We have great lessons on the gospel every Sunday and during the week we have youth activities with many different purposes. Sometimes they are just for fun, like playing volleyball or having a dance. Sometimes we teach life skills, like cooking, or sewing. Other times we have goal setting activities or spiritual lessons. Also we plan different service projects to help others and also to teach the blessings of serving others. I have 4 children myself and each of them have participated in this program. I have seen great blessings come to myself, my children and all of those who I have worked with in this program. I also enjoy the friendships that I have gained by working with other women at church, doing service for others and learning of the gospel together. Once a month a friend and I visit others women at church in their homes and we talk about the messages that we learn from the Prophet and other leaders of the church. At home, my family prays together, studies the scriptures together, and also, once a week we get together and also study the teachings of the Lord, the words of the Prophet or other gospel topics. As members of the church, we feel that family is most important and we have grown closer to one another because of the gospel and its teachings. We receive church magazines every month with uplifting messages to help better our lives. One of my daughters served an 18 month mission, one of my sons is now on a mission and one more son is preparing to serve a mission for the church, to be able to teach others around the world of the great blessings that they too can have in their lives, by having faith in Jesus Christ and joining His church
