Hi I'm Rick Wiley

I work in the motion picture industry. I am also a commercial pilot. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy a myriad of activities and spend a good amount of time outdoors. My wife and I live on a small mini farm with horses and other critters surounded by evergreen forest. I own and operate specialized motion picture equipment which has been utilized on a number of projects from small regional TV commercials to Hollywood blockbusters. I am also a commercial pilot and flight instructor and enjoy sharing the thrilling experience of flight. I am a bit of a motor head and I enjoy tinkering on everything from repairing the washing machine to hot rods, motorcyles, and model aircraft. My wife and I have two wonderful adult children that are busy laying the foundation for their own life experience. We continually look forward to the opportunities that we have to be with them together as a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. Years after I had joined, a salt of the earth church leader made a remark in a talk that he was giving that this was a common sense church. That there was nothing mystical about it and that there was nothing about it that the average person couldn't wrap their head around. I was also attracted by the idea that we can all have a personal relationship with our Father in heaven. All of the pieces fit into place for me. I am still a thick headed person and more times than not I need to run into a brick wall to see the light. My conversion was not complete until I had suffered a bad accident and was administered to and given a priesthood blessing. I had a profound experience and witnessed the power and authority given to man to act on behalf of our Heavenly Father. I may still slip and fall, but my testimony of the restored gospel and The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints is unshakeable.

How I live my faith

Being a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints has provided many opportunities to learn and grow. As with my flight training having average math skills, never dreaming that I would earn the license and eventually teach others, so it is with my membership in the church. From becoming a new convert to now serving with church administrative responsiblities. I have been given many opportunities from working with the youth and the scouting programs to managing area service projects. The church is service oriented and I enjoy lending a hand to help bless the lives of others.
