Hi I'm Makaelee

I grew up under the Arizona sun. I'm studying to become a nurse. I married my best friend. I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Minnesota but raised in Arizona. I love trying new things, whether it is activities, sports, or food. I played volleyball for a number of years and absolutely loved it. I also play a little bit of tennis and golf. I love being outside and being active. I enjoy cycling, hiking, running, and even just going on a stroll around the neighborhood. I love to cook and am always looking for new things to make or recipes to try. After I graduated from high school I headed up to Utah to begin my journey at Brigham Young University. I am studying to become a nurse and couldn’t be more excited to do so. I love people and the human body. I especially love helping people, healing hearts, and lifting spirits. I am the oldest daughter of six kids and love my family. Being able to watch and learn from my siblings has been one of the greatest blessings. I recently got married to my best friend in the Mesa Arizona Temple! He helps me become the best I can be and I will always love him for that. I can’t wait to see what else life brings!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my Savior and Father in Heaven. I know that they live and love me. I have been so very blessed to have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. It has allowed me to come unto Christ and truly find out who He wants me to be and to learn of my own potential. I was born into a Latter-day Saint family, but as I got older I knew I could no longer rely on my parent’s testimonies to get by. I needed to know for myself. Was what I was being taught for years really true, and really for me? I began to pray, truly pray, unto my Heavenly Father and to read the Book of Mormon with a sincere heart. As I did so, not only did my testimony grow but also my faith and love for my Father in Heaven and His plan grew. However, I found that as my faith increased, so did the trials and temptations I was facing. But with the strength of the Lord and faith in Him, I know I can and will be able to withstand anything thrown my way. I know that God’s grace is sufficient. He isn’t waiting for us at the finish line but he is with us every step of the way. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the greatest and most precious gift I have received. I wouldn’t be half the person I am now with out it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly trying my best to follow my Savior. Faith is an action word and requires something more than just a passive belief. Everyday I try and put my faith in things that matter most. It's a choice to follow the Savior each day. I choose to pray, read my scripture, and attend church meetings. I was privileged to served a full time mission in Washington DC. It was the hardest yet most life-changing time of my life. I was able to feel of God's love and see miracles. I know the power of prayer is real; our Father in heaven is listening. The whisperings and promptings from the Holy Ghost are real. I live my faith by attending the temple and making promises with God. One including being sealed to my amazing husband. Being able to learn from and with him has helped me to continue to live my faith in Jesus Christ. This gospel means everything to me, it’s who I am and always strive to be.
