Hi I'm Amy

I grew up in Alaska and Washington. I am a home-maker and have 5 children.

About Me

I have been a member of the church all my life, but as an adolescent I became inactive and in my mid-twenties I came back. I am a very busy mommy of 5 beautiful children, I have a wonderful husband that works very hard to support us so that I can stay home and raise our children. My husband and I both had children from previous relationships before we met. My husband was baptized into the church less then a year ago. I love being a mom and a wife, I like to help others whenever I get the chance. I have worked in the past as a hostess in a restaurant, and then as a substitute educational assistant for our local school district. I am fluent in both English and Spanish, so I would like to do some interpreting work in the future.

Why I am a Mormon

Well since I have become active in the church again I have noticed so many wonderful changes in my life, and I no longer feel like I am spiraling out of control. I have noticed so many wonderful blessing in my own life and that of my family. We all feel more secure, like no matter what trials life puts in our path, our Father in heaven will always help us get through it. and we have had some real doozys. Now that I have seen how sad and dark my life was when I was not active in the church, and how wonderful and blessed my life is now that I am active again, I will never again be inactive or take for granted the church and it's gospel teaching, or the wonderful blessings received from living these teachings. I don't want to live without the gospel in my life again

How I live my faith

I have the wonderful opportunity to serve in my church, I currently am in charge of planning, organizing and and carrying out the activities for a group of women, (18 years and older). We get together at least once every 3 months to learn new skills, preform service projects or make crafts ect.. I also teach the group of women once every three months for our Sunday lesson, I am also kind of the un-official interpreter for the Sunday class. seeing as we are a Spanish group with a few only English speaking ladies. I also get to visit 4 different ladies, who are members of this group, at there homes once a month to see how they are, and share a gospel message with them.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Amy
Yes they can, but there are some things that you must do to be able to obtain an eternal family. If both you and you spouse are worthy members of the church and are able to enter into the temple, you can be sealed to each other and your children (if you have any) for time and all eternity, meaning for the time you are here on this earth and for all eternity after this life. And you must remain firm in living the gospel for these sealings to remain valid. Yes we do believe that those families who have been sealed in the temple and have remained faithful, till the end, will live together in heaven. Families who have pasted away before having the opportunity to be sealed, can also be sealed through living families in much the same manner. If a husband and wife are sealed before they have children then there children are automatically sealed to the parents at birth. basically they are born into the sealed family. Show more Show less
