Hi I'm Megan

I was born and raised in Arizona. I teach school on the Navajo reservation, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Arizona and was raised in the LDS church. My mom, my sister and I enjoyed going to church together. My dad does not share our beliefs so I grew up hearing the scrutiny about the Mormons. Mom taught me the ways and truths of the LDS church and dad taught me to truly understand what I was being taught. His questions and comments taught me the importance of prayer and study to answer questions and gain my own testimony. I graduated from NAU and began my search for a teaching job. I felt discouraged at times, but through prayer I realized more and more that Heavenly Father had a plan for me and I just needed to keep doing what I was doing. I know God led me to the school I work at now on the reservation working with Native American families. I know that God will not ask us to do anything we are not capable of doing and that he is aware and loves us.

Why I am a Mormon

I have pondered the words of Christ in the Bible and searched and prayed about the church and know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. Through study and prayer about the Book of Mormon I have learned that it is true and that with the Bible it gives us help, comfort and guidance through our lives. Some say if God is real why does he let people suffer, I have been asked why Mormons do cretin things such as not partake of some substances others find harmless, or saving ourselves for marriage. The answer to these questions and many more I have asked God I have found in the doctrine of the Bible and the Book of Mormon. One special thing that sets this church apart from other churches is that we continue to receive revelation through a modern day Prophet. The Bible and Book of Mormon answer so many questions about agency and our time on earth as a learning process, but I know that God continues to give us information and revelation. The church is organized and perfect. The church makes sense, that is why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I try to live the way Christ would want me to live my life. He paid the ultimate price for my sins and the least I can do for him is to serve him with all my heart. I want to live a perfect life free of error but I am limited in my abilities. There are so many examples of service through history and each of those people who give themselves to service is living a Christ like life. I try my best at work to serve my students and their families and my co-workers. We are all children of God so that makes us all brothers and sisters. we want to help our family by encouraging their talents and showing love for them. I try my best not to judge and by doing this I have met extraordinary people.I love the people I serve with at church as well. What beautiful examples of service and love I have around me! I work with the women in my ward and am astounded by their strength and positivity each day.
